Avril Lavigne Took The Uggs Out For A Walk

Posted on October 07, 2006 at 9:34 PM

I was waiting for the first photos of a celebrity walking around with Ugg boots. Every year the magazines tell you that the Uggs are out. Then as soon as a cool breeze hits town, dozens of celebrities dust off their pairs and rock them hard. Avril Lavigne was the first celebrity I have seen to put them on. I bought furry boots last year but they weren’t Uggs. I am seriously considering getting myself a pair. All I ever hear is how comfortable they are.

While we are on Avril. Here she is at the grand opening of Area, a new nightclub in LA.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning Premiere

Posted on October 07, 2006 at 8:57 AM

Sophia Bush, Jordana Brewster, Jessica Biel and Diora Baird all wore black to the premier of Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. This is one of those movies I cannot go and see. They scare the living daylights out of me. This series and the Saw series will not and have not entered my home. Yes, I am a wuss. Whatever, I admit it. Give me a supernatural horror film any day of the week. But gory, psycho, ‘it might have a chance of happening to me on some dark road in the middle of nowhere’ movie – NO THANKS!

Katie Holmes Shops For Suri In Paris

Posted on October 07, 2006 at 8:52 AM

There is that happy smile that we have all been missing! I miss that! Katie Holmes did some solo shopping in Paris looking for cute finds for baby Suri. Victoria Beckham was no where to be found. BUT, Katie did stay true to her newer, more mature style of dressing. How do we feel about this outfit? You know what I think.

Wynonna Judd Almost Had Gastrointestinal Surgery

Posted on October 07, 2006 at 8:41 AM

The bill was paid. The bags were packed. The appointment was confirmed. Then Wynonna Judd decided that it wasn’t the right way to lose her excessive weight. Instead she entered ‘Shades of Hope‘, an addiction treatment center. I hope she is successful this time around.

Wynonna Judd says she was “one week away” from gastrointestinal surgery to banish her fat before she changed her mind. “I had arranged to do it anonymously and pay with cash, so no one would know it was me. But at that point God just said: ‘This is not your path,’ ” she tells November’s Ladies’ Home Journal. Instead, she entered Shades of Hope, an all-addiction treatment center, earlier this year: “I’m healing and recovering from food addiction. I don’t have normal behavior with food. I’d rather eat than do a lot of other things, and that’s just not normal.” (source)

I have to tell you something about Wynonna. There is a song that she sings that brings me to tears every time I hear it. She sang it on the Oprah show last year. I can’t remember the name of it. I think it’s a remake of an older song because I knew all the words. If you know what I am talking about, please post it in the comments section. I would love to buy it on iTunes. Thanks!!

Girls In The Know Contest

Posted on October 07, 2006 at 8:29 AM

Do you have a husband / boyfriend / brother who is totally obsessed with a fantasy league? I DO! The hours he spends with his friends running his team makes me nuts. I’ve been saying for months how there should be a league for women to do the same thing – but with CELEBRITIES. AND THERE IS!
Celebrity Fantasy League is the only online “talent agency” in the world where you and your friends can hand pick Hollywood’s hottest singers, television and movie stars to “manage” in your very own portfolio.
How does it work?
For 10 weeks you compete against other members in your talent agency by earning points every time a celebrity in your portfolio is in the news. For example, if you managed Katie Holmes when TomKitty was born, you would have earned 15 points. If you managed Jessica Simpson when the news broke that she was divorcing Nick Lachey, you would have lost 20 points.
Good things earn points and bad things lose points. At the end of each 10-week session, the person in the agency with the highest number of points wins the title of savviest celeb-watcher.
Enter to win a 10-week league for you and up to 9 friends. This has a value of $200! I love this idea!
How Do I Enter?
Click here to visit GirlsInTheKnowInc. Find the name of the first celebrity listed under the talent page . Then take my reader survey to enter. Contest ends October 12th at midnight EST. Good Luck and thanks for reading my site!
