Girlawhirl always wants to know what’s next. So she searches out what’s coming to movie theaters, DVD and CD players and bookstores and shares it with all of her closest Pals.
Fall TV Premieres:
· While most of Girlawhirl’s favorite shows have already kicked-off their new seasons, thereis stillone show’s season premiereshe’s dying to catch this week – FOX’s The O.C., Thursday Nov. 2,at 9 pm ET.She can’t wait to see what the new season,sans Mischa Barton, has in store.
In theaters this Friday:
· Borat – “R – “British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen plays a Kazakh TV journalist who comes to the “U.S. and A” to learn about American culture, ends up falling in love with Pamela Anderson after watching an episode of Baywatch and travels across country to try to make her his wife.
· Flushed Away – “PG – “DreamWorks animated tale of an “upper crust” mouse living in a posh London flat who gets flushed by a sewer rat and ends up in the underground world of “Ratropolis.” Hugh Jackman and Kate Winslet voice characters in the movie.
· Volver – “R – “Penelope Cruz stars in this Spanish language film about mothers, daughters, sisters and family ties in life and in death.

New DVD releases:
· It’s a Wonderful Life – ” Just in time for the holiday season the Christmas classic starring James Stewart and Donna Reed, It’s a Wonderful Life‘s 60th Anniversary edition hits stores this week.
· Keeping Up with the Steins – ” a young man on the brink of manhood gets ready for his bar mitzvah as his father (Jeremy Piven) strives to out do the outrageous, over-the-top, bash his rival threw for his son.
· Mission Impossible III – “ Tom Cruise stars in the third installment of the big-screen MI series. An international weapons dealer (Phillip Seymour Hoffman) has a plan to kill Ethan Hunt (Cruise). Now Ethan must stop the madman using his brains, his team, and an impressive series of stunts and imaginative gadgets.

New CD releases:
· Endless Wire – “The Who – “the band’s first album in nearly 25 years. The two surviving original members, Pete Townshend and Roger Daltry play with several other musicians providing background vocals, drums, bass and keyboard. The CD has 19 tracks, some of which will take you back to The Who’s heyday.
· Bat Out of Hell III – “Meat Loaf – “the long-awaited third album in Meat Loaf’s Bat Out of Hell trilogy. The CD is dark and dramatic and rocks.
· The Greatest Songs of the Sixties – “Barry Manilow – “The title says it all, Manilow sings the greatest songs of the 1960s including What the World Needs Now is Love, Blue Velvet and Can’t Help Falling in Love.
· Songbird – “Willie Nelson – “the legendary country singer/songwriter teams with rocker Ryan Adams, who produced the CD. Nelson sings several covers and a few originals, his and Adams’, with a harder electric rock backing than we’re used to hearing with his voice.
In book stores:
· Dear John by Nicholas Sparks – ” Rebel John Tyree joins the Army after high school for lack of any better plans. While on leave, he meets the girl of his dreams, Savannah Lynn Curtis. Neither is prepared for the intense love they feel. Then 9/11 changes everything and he must decide between love and country and Savannah must decide whether he is worth waiting for.
· French Women for All Seasons: A Year of Secrets, Recipes and Pleasure by Mireille Guiliano – ” from the author of French Women Don’t Get Fat comes a second book full of great recipes, hints and tips for shopping, entertaining, and generally living the luxurious life. Guiliano also tosses in some anecdotes about living in Paris and New York, and traveling the world, for good measure and great pleasure.
· Home to Big Stone Gap by Adriana Trigiani – ” Ave Maria Mulligan Machesney and her family have lived the town of Big Stone Gap, tucked in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, for generations. Ave Marie has lived the last 20 years of her life for her husband, family and friends. Right when a postcard from a friend encourages her to start living for herself, her whole world is turned upside down. She’s roped into directing the town musical, an old love shows up threatening the peace of her marriage and a life-long friendship ends when a mysterious stranger reveals an old secret. On top of it all, a large coal company wants to move in on the town. Now, Ave Maria must readjust, and redefine, who she is, whether she wants to or not.
