How did you decide on Tattoo as a first single?

As soon as I heard the song, I knew I had to have it. I didn’t even get past the first time the chorus played [when] I began to jump up and down and freak out about it. So, I knew that if I had the opportunity to have it on my album, I wanted it to be the first one. It was actually the first song that was pitched to me.

What was the recording process for the album as a whole?

Well, it’s still in progress, but ultimately it’s been going very well. Everyone I have been working with has been so amazing and kind. I love being in the studio. It gives me room to experiment and I love listening to the finished product!

How did you decide on what type of sound and style the album was going to have?

Well, I knew that I wanted people to be able to roll down their windows and blast the music. I knew that, when a slow ballad came on, I wanted people to be able to hear the emotion. I knew that, if my songs were played, I would want people to relate to the stories. And I’m still deciding.
