Kirsten Dunst Still Having Issues With Alcohol
Posted on May 16, 2008 at 9:11 AM
Star Magazine is reporting that Kirsten Dunst was seen intoxicated while celebrating her birthday at a local NYC bar despite completing her rehab stay at Cirque Lodge earlier this year. Friends are worried that Kirsten will fall back into old habits.
"She got worse as the night went on. She started out pretty chilled, but hours later she was dancing and jumping like a crazed animal.
She indulged in any guy who would have her attention. She also went up to several guys and started flirting with them hard-core.
She was just completely out of it. It was obvious that whatever happened in rehab didn’t stick."
What do you think about Kirsten drinking for her birthday? Is she ready for that? Is it not a big deal? Should she remove herself from those situations entirely? Is it feasible for her to do so being in the industry? I just don’t know what to think about this one.

In February, the blonde 26 year old found herself treading the same path as celebrities Lindsay Lohan, Eva Mendes and Richie Sambora as she checked herself into a rehab clinic, the Cirque Lodge Treatment Centre in Utah. The cause was not drugs or alcohol, she maintains, but depression brought on, most likely, by a broken heart. Dunst does not want to talk about her time in rehab now, noting that everything she says soon winds up on the internet, but she reveals that she was enormously co dependent and now is doing great.

Thankyou very much, Passerby @ 9:05PM–I couldn’t agree with you more!

I think the industry does play a large role in addictions. Unless she changes her surroundings and loses the enablers, she’ll never stay clean. I guess this confirms that she and Ryan Gosling are not an item.
i think addiction in industry is very common.

Problem With Drugs or Alcohol? This Drug Rehab has Helped Thousands of Individuals to Recover.
Drug Rehab
It’s not about getting drunk and having fun. It’s an addiction with some people which can eventually lead to insanity or death.
there is no such thing as “way too early” for an alcoholic or addict in recovery. addiction is a disease, and it takes dedication and determination to remain on the sober path. it doesn’t matter if you are sober for 24 hours or 24 years. the alcoholic is always one drink away from the next “drunk”. kathleen is right…there are NO EXCEPTIONS…bad days, good days, birthdays…it doesn’t matter. there are other ways to show your joy and deal with sorrow. you have to own your life and avoid situations, places and people that are no good for you and your health.
being married to an alcoholic in recovery, we have had to cut ties, mourn the loss of friends and find new avenues for “fun”. it’s all worth it to have my real, sober (for over two years) husband back in my life. and believe me, we now know who our “real” friends are.
“apparently she hasn’t hit her bottom yet”
Hey smart a** you have no idea if she has.
What’s the big deal? We don’t really know why she went to rehab. Maybe it wasn’t because of the bottle. And you know what, Drew Barrymore drinks all the time and is photographed smoking weed. She’s been through hell and back, including rehab. No one gets on her case. Its bull and I don’t think others have the right ot judge.
wonderful submit, very informative. I ponder why the opposite experts of this sector don’t realize this. You should proceed your writing. I am confident, you’ve a great readers’ base already!
it’s tough when you don’t know your limits when drinking. Actually, knowing your limits but drinking way past them. I feel for her, it’s difficult to quit drinking when the only way you know how to be “fun” is to be intoxicated.
im not saying this to be rude in any way at all…im saying it because i fully relate.
Alcoholism is a true addiction. I hope learns how to cope, shes young and just because she might have to go back to rehab more than once does not make her a failure. Rehab has its part but the aftercare is just as important, if you do not believe in AA then she should be seeing a therapist regularly. It’s not for me to give advice, just saying. I wish her the best.
Regardless of your age, your race, your sex, or the ‘industry’ you’re in, the key factor is avoiding your triggers.
It’s easy for us to say that she needs to move to a remote area for a while to get her bearings back (she really should). The problem with addicts is that they can’t get help until they’re good and ready. She just wasn’t ready, and probably just went to rehab to get a few people off her back. I don’t think she’s hit rock bottom yet, I don’t think she thinks she has a problem either. Most addicts don’t. Sometimes even as they reach their lowest point they deny it.
Sadness all around.
Awww. I actually really like Kiki as an actress and a person. I think she’s way more worried about her health than, say, Lindsay (and, lord knows, she’s got LOADS more acting ability and range than Lindsay), so I’m rooting for her.
It’s hard, though. I think back to when I was in my early twenties, and I was pretty much drunk all the time. I can’t imagine having the entire world know about those nights I may have imbibed too much. How humiliating!
I don’t understand why everyone makes such a big deal about celebrities getting drunk. Everyone does it. She’s young! Who gives a shit. Let the girl have some fun!
Apparently she hasn’t hit bottom yet.
As an alcoholic in recovery, I know that this means she is setting herself up to drink and hit her bottom. The recovery/rehab stint did NOT take. Once you go into a rehab, SOME people do manage to stay off the booze (and/or drugs). THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS! I don’t drink on holidays, I don’t drink on my birthday…I didn’t even drink a toast at my OWN wedding. I do NOT drink–no matter WHAT! There is no such thing as taking a DRINKIE-POO for good behavior! LOL
I hope that she sobers up.
Apparently she hasn’t hit her bottom.
Part of rehab is falling of the wagon. Relapsing is just part of the process. I feel for her. It’s a bummer.
