Thank goodness I am not in a business where people are TELLING me to lose weight. I mean, CAN YOU IMAGINE?! That is way too much for anyone to handle. Alanis Morissette recently admitted that she struggled with an eating disorder because a record executive once told her she was getting too fat.
"(He) suggested I was getting too fat, saying, ‘You need to go on a diet.’ My response was, ‘But I’m a singer.’ He said, ‘Yes, well, you need to get small again.’ That started a whole cycle. Two days later I was sticking fingers down my throat."
Thankfully, Alanis has grown out of that terrible stage and is a much healthier person because of it.

Sad. And I bet you she wasn't big to begin with. Size 6-8, maybe? And then they tell you you're too fat. Crazy.
She was NEVER fat! By regular standards, that is. According to Hollywood and the music industry, a size 6 or 8 is huge compared to a 0 or 2. Pretty sickening.
Sickening indeed!
She is so talented and she's always looked great - sad to hear they wanted to make a cookie cutter image out of her.
Actually, if you pay attention to her lyrics she's been quite open about her body image issues/ eating disorder for years. She's been an inspiration for me and played a large part of my own recovery. The songs on Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie really highlight what I'm talking about. Read over the lyrics from "Thank I would be Good" and "Would not come" to see what I'm talking about. She's a wonderful role model and artist for sharing herself the way she does.
I meant to say "That I would be good" not thank.
Does she have a grooming disorder, too?
She needs to go back on a diet 'cause she's looking pretty chubbs lately.
she annoced at one concert she is suffering for depression, it can cause weight gain
I think Alanis is awesome! She is a bit plump right now, but she still sounds great, and still has the incredible smile of hers.
I'd do her anyways
