  1. Statistically, gay marriage will be beneficial. Currently there are 3.6 divorces per 1,000 people. I don’t know about you but all of the homosexual couples I know have been together FOR YEARS…like double digits.

To be honest, gay marriage doesn’t concern me so I personally don’t feel that I really should have much of an opinion on it…just as I don’t feel men should have any say when it comes to abortion. By default though, I do support gay marriage.

  2. Unfortunately I don’t have the time to look up and post articles. The articles I refer to are from scientific journals which require paid membership anyway. And I am not trying to be offensive. But from studying both Biology and Psychology you will learn that there is much scientific evidence for a biological/chemical basis. If there is no biological basis for homosexuality, how would you explain it in the other animal species?
And furthermore, how could we heterosexuals ever know what it is like to be homosexual? How do we have the right to judge or decide what their motivation is? How can we tell them that they have “chosen” homosexuality, when we could not possibly have any frame of reference on which to base that assertion?

  3. I love Ellen, I wishe her the best of luck in her MARRIAGE. I am very exited and wish that I too will get married. I admire Ellen and I want to be like her when I grow up. Yay.

  4. He couldn’t even look her in the eye. What an old fool. It’s hard to uphold your ridiculous beliefs on marriage. I’m sorry if I offend anyone but I find it really repulsive for people that cheated on their wives, on their 2nd (3rd, 4th..) marriage, to be so steadfast in protecting the sanctity of marriage.

  5. i believe that being a lesiban and gay is wrong. i mean when god put the first two people on earth it wasnt two guys or two girls it was a guy and a girl. i believe if god wanted gays and lesibans in this world he would have put two girls or guys on first. I believe all of u r wrong if u support her.

  6. An OLD FOOL? Are you kidding me? Some people take in information in different ways, maybe by his looking down and focusing on one thing was his way of showing that he was listening. Instead of judging him on what he’s doing with his eyes why not just say ‘I don’t like the guy and I’m not voting for him’ because you sound absolutely ridiculous. Its obvious that she had him on to tongue lash him and voice her opinion. I’m just wondering if maybe she’s going to turn her show into another Rosie O’Donnell situation…… Should be interesting. I’m proud of her for getting married, that’s an intense wonderful step in her life, but did she really need to go that far? I think not…..

  7. hows that funny?? r u a believer in god ur self b/c that person is totally write and u might be laughing now but when god does judge some day u will go to hell if u keep that up!

  8. I’ll vote for him now that I’m sure he’s against gay marriages. It’s just wrong in so many ways. Sickening.

  9. Huh?

Chrsitians are “off” on their interpretation that homosexuality is wrong?

Have you read Romans Chapter 1 ? What in the world is your interpretation of that passage?

Just there are a few people in this world who DARE stand up and say that they believe in the bible doesnt mean they should be persecuted!

I love Ellen, she’s funny….. but I truly believe homosexuality is as unnatural as a two siblings having sex and getting “married”.

  10. Why did someone say that eating lobster is against their religion? I swear even though God said there were certain animals that were off limits and were unclean that Jesus did say that everything that God has created is clean and should be considered clean to eat…so, why no lobster?

Also, everyone is saying great for her to stand up for what she believes in. Would you be saying the same thing to John McCain if he went on the show and said no I don’t believe gays should be married etc.? Will you say the same thing about me because my belief is that gays shouldn’t be married? And that I believe it is their choice to be gay and not as they claim where they were born like that? It is my belief and I am standing up for it, so you must say that I am doing a great job, right? I highly doubt it…..John McCain isn’t really a republican, he is more of a moderate….or atleast a left republican.

  11. I am curious as to why homosexuals are so fixated on the word “married.”
In the US doesn’t this segment of our population have all the same rights as married couples but what they have is called something different? The domestic parnters act makes provisions for homosexual unions and these folks can have civil ceremonies during which they proclaim their commitment to their parnters, right?
So why is the word so important? Heterosexual couples have traditionally used the word “marriage” to identify their union. Marriage is between a man and a woman. What is wrong with calling a union between 2 men or 2 women something different?
Most heterosexuals don’t have any problem with homosexuals doing their own thing (I know I don’t) but why hijack “marriage?” Homosexuals are already “doing their own thing.” It’s not the same thing that heterosexuals are doing, I don’t think there’s any arguing that so why not come up with a different word for it? You have yours and we’ll have ours. Why won’t that work?
Sorry but I don’t get it. Are there any legal differences between the rights of married couples and domestic partners? If not, I don’t see why all the fuss.

  12. Homosexuality has been proven to have a biological basis, and exists in nearly every animal species on earth. How then can it be unnatural?

  13. ok…where’s the article or evidence proving that its a biological basis?

I like italian men…was I born that way or is it a preference that has been shaped by my personal experiences?

  14. SOME animals do lick their fellow sex, but having sex with each other, I never seen such a thing. Sea horses have sex, but the female doesn’t carry the babies, the MALE DOES! THERE IS NO PROOF OF HOMOSEXUALITY IN ANIMALS. HOMOSEXUALITY IS SIN, GOD MADE MEN TO BE WITH WOMEN, IT IS ABOMINATION FOR THE SAME SEX TO LAY DOWN WITH EACH OTHER.
As much as I’m against McCain, he has a point, he sticks by it and it’s only right. I don’t hate homosexuals, I tolerate their lifestyles, but it’s not adequate.

  15. We were all made equal but we were each designed for different roles. Women were meant to be the homemakers, according to the Bible. This is the way God set up the family life. Look at families nowadays – Mom and Dad works. We have never had more social problems that involve kids as we do now. Teenage crime is up by more than 50%. Teenage sex is way up. When Mom and Dad both work its the kids that suffer. Sure, we woman can do it all!! No doubt about that. :) But we were made for different roles.

Now for gay marriages. The Bible says it is an abomination in God’s sight. If you believe the Bible is the Word of God there is no way around it. It doesn’t matter what we think because God gets the final say. Lieing, stealing, adultery, etc are sins. So is homosexuality in God’s sight. Will we one day be hailing the theif’s right movement? I was born a theif!!!! Give me my right to steal. When does it all stop?

I just want to end off by saying – it’s not what you feel and I feel is right. I don’t care if homosexuality is not branded and accepts all over!!! But in the Last Day – when God comes to judge all the world – according to the Bible – what matters is not what you and I think – it’s what God says. Can any man refute what He has set?

  16. To previous commentor – “homosexuality is as unnatural as a two siblings having sex and getting “married”. ”

I agree. Now I know I will be voting for him. People can use science to ‘prove’ whatever they want to prove. Then 50 years later – they’ll change their mind and say – oh, BTW we have more information now, we were a little off 50 years ago. The Bible has never changed and has never been proven wrong. It is God’s standard for our lives.

We can stray from it – sure. But we suffer the consequences. That is the beauty of our God given free will.

  17. I think she put him on the hot plate and he failed. He sure is not afraid to alienate people. He must think he is going to win. Not! Glad Ellen is getting the happiness she deserves.

  18. I love her. I think she did that the exact right way. She wasn’t rude or bullying, she told him how she feels. Go Ellen!

  19. talk about akward…i really dont see why gays and lesbians cant marry..if they don’t have equal rights, then lets take away blacks rights and womens rights and see how much hell we can raise for equal rights for all of us

  20. He seemed awkward and afraid to discuss this topic with her. Good for Ellen for sticking by what she believes and doing it so nicely too! Equal rights for all!! :)

  21. I think she did a great job, I don’t understand why people in most states can’t get married just because of their sexual orientation. I don’t see the threat.

John McCain from what I hear is one of the more open minded republicans (not sure if that’s accurate). Is that true? I’m from Canada.

  22. I was surprised to see McCain, a seasoned politician, look down so much during that discussion (not always directly at her or at the camera). It’s always much easier to talk about a group of people than to say to an individual, a person with a name and a face, “Since you are gay, I believe you should be discriminated against.”

As a heterosexual married for ten years, I don’t at all feel like my marriage is being de-valued by allowing all people to marry. And I can’t even buy the against-my-religion excuse. Next to my Episcopal Church sticker on our car is the bumper sticker, “Love ALL families. Support ALL marriage.” The same folks discriminating against GBLT folks for ‘religious’ reasons are NOT stoning their daughters or turning away from eating lobster b/c of what it says in the Bible. They’re off on their interpretation of this one.
