Kristin Davis To Launch Fashion Line With Belk

Oh boy! Another celebrity is working on their very own clothing line. This time it's Sex and the City's very own Kristin Davis. She is teaming up with Belk to come out with The Kristin Davis Collection and it promises to be "modern, feminine and style-savvy". The line will include both casual and evening wear, as well as shoes, handbags and jewelery.
Kristin is a great fit for Belk. She grew up shopping in our stores and is in tune with the fashion sensibility of our customer base. We think they’ll love the modern fashion looks of the Kristin Davis brand. It’s designed to capture Kristin’s look and personality and to provide cutting-edge fashion assortments that customers won’t find in any other store."

Someone fill me in. What is Belk? I went to their website and they don't even show any other clothes, just appliances and stuff. Okay, wait.... they are listed in Texas but only in little po-dunky downs. Not good. I would love to shop *Charlotte's* wardrobe. Wonder what the collection will be like?
There are Belk stores all over the south. They have a lot in Florida in some of the nicer vacations spots so it's not just in "po-dunky downs" as you would say it. I've been in onea couple times before but it just seemed like old people clothes to me but that could be because I'm a college student.
Not very excited about this one. She could surprise me though.
Who the hell is giving all these damn people clothing lines? Just because you appear in one half-descent show does not mean you are a fashion designer. These people should be giving these clothing lines to hard working designers who actually know what they are doing.
Doesn't it look like Sylvester Stallone behind her? lol. Just thought that was funny.
That dress she is wearing looks exactly like an old comforter I had when I was little, I found it in a Brylane catalog and it was on clearance.. Ahhh good memories.
That dude in the top right of the main pic is totally checking out her butt.
Wonder why she didn't go with a bigger department store... Don't sweat the petty stuff and don't pet the sweaty stuff :)
Okay, I know none of you are aware of what Belk is so I will inform you. Belk is the largest PRIVATE owned dept store in the US. Yes, they are in a lot of "po-dunky" towns, but they are in a lot of the larger cities as well. They are a dept store for all people. Not just for the "upper class" designer driven consumer, but also for the soccer moms and their moms as well. Belk started in the south as a small family dept store and has remained a "family" oriented dept store. Can't say that for a lot of stores. They know where they came from and hold true to that. To me, that says a lot about a company. A company that continues to grow and expand throughout the US. The website is a project that is constantly updating to better serve consumers. It started out as more of a bridal registry but is now starting to further expand. Kristin Davis, yes another celebrity line, but very important to Belk b/c it is privately owned by Belk. You won't be able to purchase it in any other dept store. And Belk's private brands set them apart from all other competitiors. When the economy is bad and other dept stores are suffering, Belk will always have their private labels to pull them through.
