Billy Bob Thornton Lashes Out At Angelina Jolie And Brad Pitt

I've read and reread this quote a dozen times and can't figure out WHY Billy Bob Thornton would say such a thing. How very hurtful. Caring for 6 children and building a life around family is hardly a phase...
"She is just going through a high school phase. You know dating the quarterback of the football team with Brad Pitt over there. She'll be waking up from that dream in no time. Who knows if I'll be there when she's ready to come to her senses though."

Hmm... sounds like someone is still nursing some old wounds. I do have to say, though, that I've wondered something similar. I just don't believe people change that significantly overnight the way she seemed to. A 'phase' is a harsh way of putting it, but I hope she doesn't get "bored" with family life.
Hopefully he was kidding and it was just taken out of context. She has 4 kids and is pregnant with twins. If that is "highschool" when is the adult phase supposed to start? That really does not make sense.
He left her. He knows how she is and I have thought the same thing. This is a phase she is going though and the sad thing is she is involving kids. Remember her dad knows how she is and said he hopes for the best, but he know angie well and hope she knows what she is doing.
Billy Bob didn't leave Angie, In an interview both said they grew apart because Angie wanted kids, he didn't. He wasn't ready to adopt a kid with her. Angie went along and did it by herself; she left him and he in turn started touring and playing with his band. Their marriage was based on physical attraction, Angelina wanted more than that. Billy didn't want to give more, she moved on and adopted Maddox.

LOL...that quote if funny, seriously. Maybe he is kidding or maybe he is upset that Angie moved on with her life, and he is still stuck in nowhere land. Who knows, I don't think Angie ( I don't know her personally) would adopt three orphans and bring three children into this cruel world as a "phase".
How immature of him! I think he sounds like he envies Angelina the life she now has. I don't think either it's forever but to actually go ahead and say something like this shows Billy Bob has serious issues, among them not knowing when to shut up or just saying nothing at all. Whatever happened to respecting others, to manners?

hate to say it but i've wondered the same thing. it's like she is forcing something that just doesn't fit. idk. we all could be wrong(and i hope so) because none of us no her personally. but, this quote is funny. i thought they were still friends. and what old wounds is he nursing? he left her when she brought maddox home.
The first thing that came to mind when reading this was, what a pri*k! But I don't know how things are or how they have been. Who am I to judge?

I hope this is out of context. Otherwise, that is incredibly personal and not something ANYONE should talk about to the media. Whether or not he's right isn't the point. You would think he'd know better.
ok I'm a little surprise to hear that because in several interviews Angie always said that they're still very close and that they still talk and she loves him but they just grew apart. Did she lie about that one too?
out of context of not, i have to say i've wondered about this... she seemed to changed too muh pratically overnight in a space of what? 5, 6 years, she went from carrying billy bob's blood on her neck to having 4 kids and being pregnant with twins... it seems like too much of a change and something that happened so fast... and also, if you look into brad's previous relationships,he always seems to almost morph into who he's going out with, his personality seems to change completely for a while, until he gets bored and meets someone else... now, i hope billy bob is wrong and this is not just a "phase", spec. since there are so many kids involved now, but i definately get what he's saying here... and judging from the comments above, i'm not the only one.

Uh, I can see a lot of truth in that. This guy knows Angelina probably better than anyone else... he knows what she's like. I don't know about the "if I'll be there" part... that's kinda a dumb thing to say - who's to say that she'd ever go back to him. But yea, I'm sure it's partly true.

Adopting is so good and I command her for that. Having biological kids is great as well and again I command her for that. Something that amazes me is this. I know they are rich but is it really necessary to have 6 kids all in a row? Having kids is not only about money and I think that's the reason why so many celebrities don't have kids early since they're so busy and they know that it's unfair for the kids to come into this world where noone has time for them. Maybe it looks all cute now but think about when those kids are all teenagers. Or what if one day they decide to break up. You never know about Hollywood people! Then what's gonna happen with those kids. If somebody knows her, it's Billy Bob. I hope he is wrong but I've been wondering about this too before. She is known to do everything with excess and when she is excited about something she can't stop it. I only hope it's not the case with her kids. You can actually tell she is so in love that she will do anything with that man. Billy Bob is not a shy person. I still remember after they broke up and he said that sex doesn't have to be with a model (actress) to be good. She is known to do impulsive things so we'll see, time will tell. I hope everybody is happy though, including Billy Bob and Jen.

It's hard to tell the tone of something like that when you're just reading it. I can see how he'd say that as a joke.
this is striclty an opinion, and something that I wonder about. Im not saying she's a bad person or whatever...but sometimes I think Angelina is addicted to having and raising children. She's had bad substance abuse problems for most of her life, and when she kicked that, it seems like her addiction was shifted elsewhere......to kids and helping people (UN ambassador etc.). Alot of people trade one addiction for another (i.e. instead of smoking, someone will become addicted to gum, insted of eating someone becomes addicted to exercising)....it's like the strong urge and desire for SOMETHING is still there, but it's just getting satisfied in other ways. I'm not saying she's a bad mom or doesnt love her kids, but I agree with some previous posters here.....it seems like it was an overnight change and she goes from announcung on the red carpet she screwed Billy Bob in the back of a limo to full blown motherhood. It even almost seems like she sees these children as having saved her. she wants to surround herself with more because she feels protected or safe? I dunno....like i said it's just my opinion!
I like Angelina and her open charachter and I like Billy Bob. I have to agree with you. I would say that children keep her focused on something positive rather than negative.
Hmmm. It seems to me that her "phase" was the whole "wearing blood around her neck, getting all the tattoos, acting weird" thing. I always just looked at it as she was growing up and was out of her rebellious phase. Eh, whatever. Billy Bob always seemed like a sarcastic guy, he's probably kidding.
I think he has a movie coming out or something. Maybe he's just saying it for press.
