Amy Winehouse Ill With Tuberculosis
Reports are surfacing that Amy Winehouse is suffering with tuberculosis, an illness that is common amongst drug addicts that severely reduces immunity and increase chance for infection. Perhaps that is why Amy is still hospitalized after fainting several days ago.
"Amy is in a bad way. Doctors are still struggling to control her heartbeat but the chest condition has been really worrying them. "She’d been suffering horrible coughing fits and hurling up blood for a while but refused to be examined. "Doctors now believe it is tuberculosis and are doing more tests to be certain."
How terrible! What will it take to shake this girl up?

"She has a chest infection and she had a routine test for TB, which came back negative."
I've heard she's HIV. Sad, sad waste of talent.
I think she's at the end of the road. Sad.
Its all up to her at the end of the day, if she wants to overcome this addiction she will if not she will give in and OD or her body will simply hsut down and she will die. I feel bad that her mishaps have been charted along the way and I hope she gets better.
I'm surprised she's lasted this long at the rate she has been going.
Hope her will is up to date, that is if she has anything left, drugs aren't cheap. I feel bad for her but it was all a matter of time before she ended up dead if she continued on her current path of destruction. Hopefully she can be saved, but TB is pretty serious, I think you usually have to be quarrantined while in the hospital and the medical staff have to wear those special masks around you.
She just doesn't seem to care for herself or about herself at all. What a shame. I hope if she makes it through, that this is finally rock bottom for her and she gets help. I would hate to think that someone with her talent wouldn't consider their life worth saving

doesnt matter how you "spin" it, chest infection/tb/(god i hope not) hiv.... shes sick.. and until she stops abusing drugs her body will not heal. With the state of her health, this could be a death watch...
Winehouse, her management and record company are deep in denial. All the subterfuge and secrecy are to keep the concert promoters and fans at bay and happy. Winehouse's management still sent out a notice about her appearing at the Oxeygen concert, in July, on MySpace. If Winehouse is refusing examination, she's probably scared that it means, no more getting high/drunk/confused. Some folks wanna party 'til they just can't party no more. I hope she recovers and tries to get her life back on track, such a shame!!
When a drug addict reaches a certain point, theres usually no turning back. Most importantly, it doesnt seem like she WANTS to turn back. It makes me sad to say it, but I think we'll hear she's ODed or something soon. She's just so out of control.
She has too many enablers and people looking the other way. I hope she doesn't self destruct but she's headed in that direction.
Addiction is hard to defeat, callie and ladybug make excellent points. Addict +alcoholic + bulimic + emotional and mental issues x apathetic/codependent enablers = Winehouse's downfall. My uncle was drinking himself silly. Jailtime, hospitalization, job loss, homelessness couldn't stop him from drinking. Finally, his heart gave out and he choked on his vomit. Winehouse has to be sick and tired of being sick and tired. If my ass was coughing up blood, I'd DAMN sure would stop.
