Pete Wentz Adopts A Baby Girl... Little Pooch

Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson welcomed 10 week old puppy Rigby into their family. That puppy is adorable! But should they be adding more responsibility on their plate with the new baby on the way? Guess everyone is different. They probably wanted the dog trained and part of the family before the child arrives which completely makes sense.

i sure as hell hope they adopted. and once that kid is born the poor little thing is probably going to be second best. so sad.

They don't need to worry about complete responsibility for the dog or the baby. I'm sure they'll have 'people' to help take care of these things.

I don't see the big deal about having a dog and a baby? I've known many couples who had dogs and other pets before they had a child.

they obviously got another dog to keep the one they have company since when they have the baby they will both be more occupied. Dogs are very sensitive creatures and they need companionship. So dont be so nasty till you know what the hell you are talking about. Damn only talk **** when you are educated and knowledgeable about something.

you should see how many stories on petfinder and dogsindanger are about how "they're having a baby" , "no time for the dog because of the baby" , "the dog's too rough with the baby". It's pathetic. If you know your going to get knocked up, don't get a pet.

Since they already have one bulldog, I don't see how one more will be that much more difficult. By the time the baby comes, little Rigby will be trained and a regular part of the family. Not a big deal!!

I think it's fine to have pets and children, but hopefully they have trainers to make sure that the dog gets trained properly. The dog will just be entering it's adolescent stage when the baby is born and that is the most common age that people get rid of their dog. If you go to the pound you see a lot of dogs that are 1-3 years in age and then a bunch that are much older.

You are so right!! I can't imagine having an infant and a puppy at the same time. Dogs really take about 3 years to get trained up completely. Hopefully they will have a trainer AND a daily dog walker. Dogs need to leave the house for a walk every day for at least 25 minutes. Happy, healthy, balanced dogs are heaven on earth.

Is this new dog a replacement for Hemingway? Did I miss any news about Pete's dog? I think this new dog will be good company for Hemingway, especially once Pete and Ashlee's baby is born as he will feel less left out?

Is that a pit bull? They aren't exactly 'family' kinda dogs.

First of all, pit bulls should NOT be categorized solely by their breed. I personally know many that are the sweetest, kindest and most gentle dogs that anyone can hope for. A large part of the bad rap that pit bulls get is based on HOW people raise them. You can raise ANY dog to be mean. Please do a bit of research before perpetuating ignorant b.s. about animals. (It's kind of like saying, "white people aren't very family like." Get it now?) On another note, whomever mentioned getting another dog as a companion is probably hitting the nail on the head. In my experience, animals often are happier with a companion-especially with a new baby on the way.

I like how it says "adopted", when we all know they bought it from a breeder or even a pet shop that supports puppy mills. We've all been tempted by cute puppies at pet stores and advertised by breeders, but the more responsible thing to do is to adopt from a rescue or humane society. This sends a bad message to the rest of the world. It's not their job to be perfect role models, I'll give them that, but I sure wish they would try harder.

wow, it's amazing how ridiculous everyone is being. tons of families have pets. why worry about these guys, they obviously have an entourage that can help them out if they get too overwhelmed. it's not like they up and adopted six kids or anything...

1. That is not a pit bull, Audrey. Anyone could tell you in a second that is a bulldog. 2. If it was a pit bull (which it is not) Seattlite is correct a pit bull should not be judged by it's breed to tell whether or not it it's suitable for a family. It's about the raising of the animal and it's conditioned nature.Pit bulls naturally have a kind and loving disposition. 3. Opttoadopt, your right you should always support adopting from a rescue shelter.... but how can you tell they didn't? I volunteered at a pound for years and you'd be surprised how many pure breed puppies are there, they get adopted very quickly. That's not to say that they possible came from someone who bought the dog from somewhere that gets their dogs from puppy mills or breeders and decided they didn't want it. But doesn't it deserve a home too?
