Alicia Keys To Retire At 30

Please don't do it!!! Alicia Keys has said that she's planning on retiring at the age of 30. She's 27 now so we don't have very many years left for her to make beautiful music. :( A recent trip to Egypt inspired her, so now she wants to travel the world instead of sing.
"I am working hard now so I have the choice to retire when I want. I would like to travel the world and stay in places instead of having to move on like I do now. I want to experience difference cultures."
Not going to lie, I would be disappointed if she quit making new albums and touring. I love her music! But do you think she'd really retire so young?
Frankly, I could care less if she retired or not.
I'm in the same boat. She's just "meh". I enjoyed some of her music but not a real big fan.
She wants to live her lesbian life at 30.

I really don't care either way, I've never really heard any of her songs. But she'll retire until she runs out of money, do a "comeback" tour and then disappear again.

EFFING. I AGREE. That's what I popped in to say! I'm so sick of people acting like because they worked hard, they deserve their break, while all the rest of us who work our butts off and didn't have the same opportunities (or perhaps didn't tell the same lies or commit the same wrongs or whatever) are somehow less deserving of a break. I'd retire at 30 if could, too. But I hope to God I wouldn't have such a self-congratulatory view on the whole situation.
P.S. I'm not trying to imply Alicia herself. is a dishonest person..... P.P.S. I don't like her music either and wouldn't miss her. The songs sound like she's practicing scales. And she won all of India Arie's grammys!

She might retire from touring but not from music...I hope!
i'm really confused because no where in that statement did i get any indication that she was implying that ppl like herself don't work hard. my aunt retired from being a RN at 40 but she still works. to me, that's something to celebrate and we did. we did it because she has worked like a dog for her entire life and is now at a point where she can enjoy the fruits of her labor. if you have the means to retire anytime you want then do it. anybody who work there a$$ to the bone deserves a break. and it doesn't matter what job you're working. some ppl isn't that lucky and so i guess that's what the jealous babbling is all about. it's amazing how a couple of ppl can read the same interview and then take everything away from it but what's there in black and white.
another way for her to try and gain publicity. thats what Jay-z did a couple years ago, said he was gonna retire, but ended up being on about a dozen albums after that. shes gonna say shes retiring to get her publicity up so she can 'collaberate' on other albums or movies, then when she decides to 'come out of retirement', she thinks shes gonna be as famous as she was years ago. shes just mad that she isnt in the headlines anymore for her music.

It doesn't matter if you work hard or not. People can retire anytime they want. It is just that most people don't have enough money to live without working. I would miss her if she retires, but if she really retires, please don't come back. I hate people say something and then chenge their mind.
poor thing's probably tired.. she needs a break. i doubt she'll really retire though. she's a true artist. she'll be itching to make more records after she checks off a few x's on her to-do list. i love akeys!

im to sad but if is that what makes her happy it have to be good she really work hard i love her i feel so conected with her person and her music and i feel every word that she says good luck alicia xDD
