Bob Saget hosted a a comedy "roast" last weekend and apparently things got a little raunchy when talking about Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen. Bob wasn't too thrilled about some of the things that were said.
"Anybody who talks about my TV kids - that upsets me the most. I am very protective. I love them very, very much."
John Stamos also took a swipe at the twins while on stage.
"The whole time Bob and I were doing 'Full House,' he was also hosting 'America's Funniest Home Videos' " he said. "His entire job consisted of saying 'Take a look at this' which is what he used to say to Mary Kate in her dressing room."
But afterwards John seemed to regret what he said,
"I truthfully don't know where their sense of humor lies these days. I thought some of [the roast] was a little over the top. They're still my friends," he said of Mary-Kate and Ashley. I think [the comics] crossed the line a few times."
One comedian, Gilbert Gottfried, said they had it coming.
"If you are an Olsen girl, you deserve it. They're going to just have to go home and cry in their billions of dollars."
Do you think MKO and Ashley are fair game for their comedian friends?
I thought it seemed pretty funny, I can't wait to see the show. But I guess it would be kind of uncomfortable for Danny Tanner, they were his kids for like...a long time (?).

Hahaha I love the quote that John Stamos said! Hilarious!
C'mon people...it's a ROAST. That is what they do. What did they expect? Everything is fair game. It is all in good fun. GET OVER IT.

wow - john stamos' comments caught me off-guard. especially his "defense/apology" where he said "i dont know where their sense of humor lies these days". doesn't sound too friendly to me.

I hope this doesn't sound too mean, but I definitely think they're fair game. These girls reap all the benefits of being rich and famous but they never once make an effort to reach out to their fans, to be personable, or to open themselves up. Yet they do those crappy indie films and expect everyone to go running with their $9 in hand? Give me a break. They should be made fun of, at least until they realize they're as human as the homeless person they almost stepped on in their designer shoes.

roasts are always over the top and offensive - that is the point.
So they should "open themselves up" so the world can rip them apart?... like Britney Spears for example? Puh-lease.

I think Britney was a different situation. She was on top of the world until she met K-Fed, right? I think her descent came from her marriage falling apart and not seeking help when she possibly had post-partum (sp?) depression - both of which are gut wrenching things that can rip anyone apart whether they're in the public eye or not. The Olsens made millions off of being role models and being relatable. I used to watch their straight-to-DVD videos when I would babysit. Now they just shut the world out? It doesn't seem right. Agree to disagree, I guess!

Not real sure why John Stamos feels bad about what he said. It sounds like to me it's a swipe at Bob Saget. I think they are fair game as well as they are adults now. However it's completely understanable for him to feel protective towards them. To him they will more then likely always be little kids.
I really like this photo of the girls - they look normal & healthy! Ah, those were the days.....

these mutants are fair game! flap jack titts lol
It sounds like he got offended at some remarks that were made towards the girls being very young while the show was made.. which could be very offensive depending on what's said. As adults -- I don't think they're any less "fair game" than any other adult celebrity.

everyone is fair game in today's world

The Olsen twins are a few months older than I am, so I feel like I am a good frame of reference and ...famous or not, making jokes about sexually harassing the girls (they were only 9 years old when the show ended) is downright inappropriate.

Making jokes with sexual connotations about little girls (regardless of how old they are now or how much money they have) is inappropriate.
Go back and look at the words spoken by John Stamos. We he says take a look at this, what does he mean? The joke is that you the listener make it dirty. You make the joke dirty by assuming Bob Saget was doing something illegal or inappropriate. Was he? It's your call make the joke inappropriate or not it's up to you the listener.
