Hayden Panettiere’s Family Kisses And Makes Up

Hayden Panettiere’s dad’s arrest was apparently all just one big misunderstanding. Alan and Lesley Panettiere told Extra,
"It was all a big misunderstanding. [We] love each other very much and want everyone to know that the matter was completely blown out of proportion."
Hayden found out about the arrest when her father called her from jail. The police report claims Alan struck Lesley and bruised her face, but the couple said,
"Nothing actually happened."
Is this damage control or did the media get wind of something and turn it into a bigger deal than it actually was?

No one deserves to be hit and we really don’t know what went on inside their home. We really shouldn’t judge. I feel bad for Hayden.
Probably there is an element of damage control to protect their daughter’s career and reputation. However, it is interesting that the police felt they had enough on this guy to hold him (including asking for bail), and then all of a sudden, “nothing happened”. It is not unusual for abused women to retract a statement due to fear of future reprisals. In the country where I live, police can now charge in cases of domestic violence if they believe an offence has been committed regardless of whether the woman suddenly wishes to retract. To Gee Gee, she does not deserve to be hit for staying with him. Many women stay in abusive relationships out of fear and low self esteem. Some even come to believe themselves that they deserve it. NO woman, or person for that matter, deserves to be hit because they have a disagreement with their partner.
I can’t see why he was put in jail if something bad didn’t go down.
I say damage control. If both parents released a statement saying its no big deal it should be left at that. They might be just trying to protect their daughter and not look like the Lohans
Honestly it doesn’t matter. they got drunk and pis*ed off at each other, called the cops and someone went to jail. If you cannot drink together and get along, either make a deal only one drinks or neither drinks. Booze doesn’t always need to be there to have fun! Although it seriously helps sometimes.
I think it was both things. I think something did happen but you know FOR SURE that the media also exaggerated with some things, just like they do with pretty much every story.
I’m sure this is not the first time he hit her; this is the first time the police were called. Since Hayden is popular now, the media is all over the story. A man doesn’t wake up one day and decides to physically abuse his wife. She deserves it for staying with him. She is sad for protecting an abuser, a man should never hit his wife.
I think her parents are being less than honest. Poor Hayden.
