Could it be that Tom Cruise's time is up? Rumor has it that the actor is BEGGING to do Mission Impossible 4 and the studio just doesn't want him. They want a younger, cheaper actor to take his place.
Add that to the fact that Angelina Jolie has replaced him in Edwin A. Salt and this morning's new about Paula Wagner (Tom's production partner) leaving United Artists and you have yourself one heck of a bad day. Paula gave this official comment about her departure:
"I’ve truly relished working with my longtime partner Tom Cruise to revitalize United Artists, and I am proud of all that we’ve accomplished in the past two years, reinvigorating the brand and developing such a strong slate of films."
Back to MI4, NY's Page Six has a source claiming that Tommy is really upset about not getting his way. So upset in fact that he walked right out of a meeting.
"Cruise is begging for MI:4 (Mission Impossible: 4)’ but Paramount wants a younger, cheaper guy. He had a tantrum and ran out of the meeting."
What do you think about all of this?
I think its about time someone has pulled this alien back down to earth!

I think Tommy Girl had PMS!!!!!! It's also good to see Katie smile, even it is an act(because it does look kind of fake).

I love all of his movies and do not think MI:4 would be any good without him.

I wouldn't want to watch an MI film that didn't star Tom Cruise. Why bother having another one of these films and not including him?

I have only seen the first one, but I have to agree. If Harrison Ford can bring back Indy when he's 60+ years old, Tom Cruise shouldn't have a problem with MI4. I wonder if this is a bullsh*t story.

don't you find it's odd that they both have very similar hair style?? Yes her smile look very forced.

No, not really.
No, not really.
I think he's a little man with a BIG ego. I'm sure his Scientologist peeps won't want him knowing he won't be able to support them with the same amount of cash they're use to. We'll be hearing how his changed his ways sooner or later.

Good riddance.

perfect picture to accompany this storyline!

That would be weird seeing a Mission Impossible without Cruise in it, i do agree, BUT I bet everyone felt the same way when they replaced Sean Connery as James bond - and 007 made it. Even through the Roger Moore years! LOL

very true. and Daniel Craig is awesome as Bond! I also think that I don't necessarily want to see another MI movie regardless. I think it's played out now.

I hate to say it... Karma! LOL, Im in trouble now.
KatieS ~ couldn't have said it better myself. You've officially jumped the shark, Tommy.
"I do not think that means what you think it means" - to borrow a line from Princess Bride. In fact, I'm quite certain of it. This is not a case of 'jumping the shark'.

A tantrum? Ran out of a meeting? Is that how a good little scientologist is supposed to act? I, for one, will not miss him if he never graces the silver screen again.

i think it's ridicuolus. he's only 46, i don't understand how that's "too old."

Really? When women in Hollywood reach 30, they are close to over-the-hill. Ridiculous and maddening, but true.
