Leighton Meester Recording An Album

If you're on Blair Waldorf overload now, just wait. Leighton Meester has started recording an album to be released soon, so we'll be seeing even more of her! She said,
“I am yeah, Technically, yeah I am. I mean, for real this time… I’ve always done [music], just now I am actually doing an album that I plan to release.”
Leighton loves the process,
“It’s so cool because it’s a completely different creative process, From beginning to end it’s yours and you make it… You can see the finished product. It’s sometimes hard when you’re acting to be like, ‘Oh I see the finished product right before my eyes.’ So it’s cool you’re there from start to finish when you are writing.”
Do you think she'll be a good singer or is this just another case of an actor who wants to make the most of her rising star?

I hate how all these actresses come out with music albums. I feel like they are trying to conquer the world. Can't you just be good at one thing? Why try to be a musician when you are a talented actress?
Hayden, Scarlet, Paris and now Leighton? Why can't they just stick to acting? (not Paris of course, she's not good at acting either). Unfortunately for them, I think people just don't take them seriously. Hayden's song on the Candies commercial is actually quite catchy but they get pigeonholed as actresses and not singers. Even I do it, though I try not to. If someone has a nice voice I'm all about giving them a chance but it's hard to picture Blair Waldorf singing and take it seriously.

I actually just heard Leighton's version of Betty Davis Eyes and she sounds really, really good. It is a bit annoying when celebs do this but i think if you have a good voice, go for it. why not take advantage of all opportunities as they come? i know i would.
Agreed (with mary). Though I dont think it'd be an album I'd go out and buy, she has sort of an edgier Norah Jones type voice. Go check out Perez Hilton's site, he has posted a few songs of hers that she's done.
Another actor/singer....... BORING.... not even interested in hearing her sing thank you..... having all these already millionaires (not saying she's a millionaire, but i mean in general) making albums to make more millions, is taking away oppurtunities from struggling non famous musicians trying to get a break..
Why don't you try listening to her before you judge her? She's actually an AMAZING singer. And why should she just stick to acting when she can obviously do a lot more.
