Victoria And David Beckham Do Not Spoil Their Children

Victoria And David Beckham Do Not Spoil Their Children

I want to talk to Victoria in ten years when her teenage boys are asking for whatever is the latest gadget and a new set of wheels. Can you imagine what it's going to be like to have to raise three Beckhams in Hollywood once they are in High School. Oh how the girls are going to go crazy!

But for the time being, Victoria Beckham says she does not spoil her little boys and David is on board with the plan.

"We both say no to the kids and they don’t get everything they want. It’s nice to treat them but at the same time you don’t want to end up with spoilt little sods, and it could be very easy, especially living here (in Los Angeles). "We’re very strict with them. We treat them now and then but they’re not the kind of kids who have everything they want when they want. I wouldn’t do that. "It’s just not good for them. I want them to know you have to work hard for things and if they don’t say please or thank you they don’t get anything."

From everything I've read, they seem like very good parents. And yes, those boys will be heartbreakers when they grow up! :-)

Part of me wants to hate her... but i'm at the breaking point where i'm starting to really like her. A bit like Angelina Jolie... I can't hate them.. I can only be extremely jealous of them.

Oh Puh leeeeeeze!!!!!!!!!!! What's her definition of spoil? The boys can have the half million dollar cars, but not the 2 million dollar cars when they turn 16. This is Victoria we are talking about. They would not be seen driving a Honda.

I very much doubt the Beckham's will still be living in America in ten years time!

Please! Whoever listens to this womans drivell needs help and is very easily duped. Where do I start! All i'm going to say is dont beleive anything this woman has to say as its all for publicity/protection of self image. She's said a lot over the past few weeks and its all rubbish. She has a very good PR team behind her. She knows what to say to the public. I dont like/dislike the woman, but i know a story teller when i see one and she tells a lot of stories! Trust me, we had to go thru it back in the UK when they were here and the rubbish she spun that was in the papers day in day out....she thinks we're fools...

Victoria seems to be as grounded and down-to-earth as you can possibly get with as much fame and fortune as her family has. In interviews (both written and taped) she always comes across as being very matter-of-fact when it comes to child-rearing, it seems obvious to me that she was raised very well herself and wants the same for her children. Just because their children are growing up rich and famous doesn't mean they have to be completely spoiled.. I think she's doing the best she can. :)

Anon @ 10:24, do you know her personally? Have actually sat down and talked to her, gotten to know her? ........... I didn't think so.

I'm not buying this bullsh1t. She's not setting examples! That is how children learn. Look at the big huge mansions, million dollars cars, top name brand clothes & shoes, expensive jeweleries, private jets etc. They are extremely materialistic and they always have to have the best of the best. They are very greedy and loves showing off. That's all they care about is making money. They're trying so hard to act normal and down to earth so people can like them. The more popular they are, the more money they make.

No, 12:16, but I'm not the one going around telling people what to think of her.

Nor am I. Each to their own. Give some credit to the UK folks though, we've had her longer than you have. I bid you farewell....

I think this is a good attitude. I think that maybe her idea of spoiled is different than ours and the kids obviously won't do without but at least she's trying to teach some sort of lesson to her children about material things and how they must be earned.

No offense intended, and I'm not trying to argue, but how are the UK papers different than USA ones? I mean, they all stretch the truth, or even outright lie. It's just a business, I don't think they care too much for the facts. Just sayin'.........

the tabloids are exactly the same: they all lie and make up BS whenever it suits them.

"big huge mansions, million dollars cars, top name brand clothes & shoes, expensive jeweleries, private jets etc." if you have D&G kind of money, you won't spend your time shopping in target or sears. it's annoying when ppl complain about what rich ppl buy and what they do with the money they earned. if you are making millions of dollars, how likely is it you will ride around in a honda or live in an average house. my point is this: ppl live within their means. you buy what you can afford.

I disagree. Look at Warren Buffet, second-richest man in the world who drives a Caddy and lives in an average American home. You have wasteful rich and you have frugal rich -- the people that got rich by being smart about their money. And I think Victoria's comments are ridiculous. Would she care to quantify "spoiling"?
