Kirsten Dunst Restrains a Stalker

First Jennifer Garner, now Kirsten Dunst has a stalker!  Kirsten has obtained a restraining order against Christopher Smith, who she says is stalking her.  In her declaration to the court, Kirsten wrote:

“Mr. Smith has repeatedly shown up uninvited at my place of residence in Los Angeles, going so far as to ignore police warnings, bypass my personal security measures, trespass on my property, and attempt to gain entry into my home.”

Kirsten's housemate and personal assistant, Elizabeth Donohue, performed a citizen's arrest when she discovered Smith on the property.  Smith was then arrested by the police and placed in a 72-hour psychiatric hold.  Not surprisingly, this has Kirsten fearful.

“Mr. Smith’s sudden, aggressive, and harassing efforts to contact me are extremely frightening. I fear not only for my own personal safety, but also for the safety and well being of my housemate and assistant.”

In his statement to the police following his arrest, Christopher told the police that he knew what he had done was wrong and he had "learned" his lesson.

'I’m in love with Kirsten, so I went to her house,' he said.

'I connected with Kirsten spiritually,' he is also quoted as saying. 'I felt like I connected with her and she connected with me. Now I don’t know if she did. I guess you have to ask her if she connected.' "

Kirsten said she did not want any contact with Smith in a statement to police.

Fame definitely has its pitfalls, and I'm sure any celebrity would say this is one of the biggest problems!  Perhaps this apparent increase in celebrity stalkers is due to the holidays; people with mental health problems tend to worsen around the holiday season.  It's a great time of year, but it's stressful, too.
