Although Kellogg has dropped Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps, Subway has taken a different tact.Michael’s picture has been removed from the sandwich chain’s website, but they are keeping him on.

‘Like most Americans, and like Michael Phelps himself, we were disappointed in his behavior,’ Megan Driscoll, the rep for Subway, tells Usmagazine.com. ‘Also like most Americans, we accept his apology. Moving forward, he remains in our plans.’ "

Subway isn’t the only chain sticking by Michael. Visa, Speedo, luxury Swiss watchmaker Omega, and athletic drink PureSports have not dropped the Olympic swimmer, either.

Dark Knight star Christian Bale has finally broken his silence about the audiotape of his profane outburst at the director of photography on the Terminator Salvation set.

‘Iwas out of order, beyond belief,’ Bale tells KROQ. ‘I acted like a punk. I regret that … It is inexcusable.

‘Please, I am asking people, do not allow my onetime lapse in judgment, my incredibly embarrassing meltdown, to overshadow this movie,’ he says."

Sounds like a fair enough request to me. Why should this influence your view of the movie? Christian said his anger came out of his "intensity and enthusiasm for acting," but admits that he crossed the line.

And he has one other thing to point out.

I ask everybody to sit down and ask themselves, ‘Have they ever had a bad day and ever lost their temper and really regretted it immensely?’ "
