Heidi Klum Doesn’t Like The Size Zero

Posted on March 20, 2009 at 7:44 AM

I find this amusing coming from a model. Her entire industry is a size zero (OR LESS) and here is Heidi Klum bashing the entire concept.

Size 0 in the US is equivalent to a UK dress size 4 or a European size 32, but Heidi just doesn’t like the term.

"A size
zero? I’ve never heard of that. That didn’t exist when I was growing up.
When did that start? What does it mean? It means a person is not there, no?
It makes no sense."

The supermodel was also asked whether or not she would opt for plastic surgery as she ages while attending the 50th birthday party for Barbie.

"I hope that when I reach 50 I look as good as
Barbie does, but I don’t think I’d go for surgery. I think I’m going to get
older with wrinkles – a few of them here and there."

She’s always been so vocal about aging gracefully. It’s refreshing in the industry… but she does have great genes to start with.

  1. Botox and all those injections are not considered surgery, so she may
very well do all that and will consider herself growing old naturally.

  2. Size 0 didn’t exist when she was a girl. It was a size 6! In the past 15 years I’ve gained 10lbs, but somehow gone from a size 5 to a size 0.

    As an example:

    Bust 32 1/2
    Waist 23 1/2
    Hips 34 1/2

Historically that was a size 8*! But currently it’s a 00 – 0 (at least according to Nordstroms)

(US Department of Commerce Office of Standards Services. Sizes valid from late 1940s through 1970s. See page 17 for women’s sizes.)

Can’t blame her for not liking vanity sizing.

  3. i am a size zero.. but not cuz i diet and starve myself.. im just athletic and was always born pretty slim.. and im tall im 5`10 and a half.. so being a zero isnt all bad..

  4. I don’t get what a size 0 is either. In Europe, a size 32 is pretty much only for tiny-tiny-tiny girls, I can’t find a conversion between european/american sizes that includes a size 0.

  5. what she said sounds reasonable, me neither don’t like tiny, 0-size girls… like Posh or so. I think you should have a healthy figure, eat good food and do some sport regularly, but not exhaust yourself!

yeah but she didn’t say anything against the size or against tiny girls, she just does not like the term size “zero”

  7. Ironic to hear her comments about ageing, because to me it definietely looks lilke she has just had something done to her face…subtle, but definitely something.

  8. Yeah, something is different about her face… if she had work done, then it didn’t do her any favours. I think she looks older than she is.
