Penelope Cruz Does What It Takes For A Role
Posted on June 30, 2009 at 3:34 PM
Some celebs seem like they’d rather protect their public image than play an unatttractive character. While others like Charlize Theron ugly up and are rewarded…in her case with an Oscar! Maybe Penelope Cruz is hoping to follow in those footsteps. She says she’ll do what it takes for whatever person she has to play.
"If a character needs to look good then you try to find the look for
that character. If it means to look bad then you have to put your ego
away – whatever the character needs. I have no worries about that."
In my opinion, Penelope is hands down one of the most gorgeous women in the industry…so I find it hard to imagine her as ugly no matter what the role!

That would be one of the hard parts of being an actor, gaining and losing weight all the time, like Toby Mcguire when he had to lose so much weight for Seabiscuit, and then turn around and put it right back on for Spiderman. (Did I get that right? I hope so…)
She is beautiful, and I love her accent as well!
I think for any good actor/actress there should be no problem to ugly up or vice versa, to portray certain character they should look like them or close to the image.
She’s great, so talented and beautiful. I think she could pull off a more unattractive role.
ugly can be done with make-up. I’d hate to have to gain an immense amount of weight.
She’s a great talent. Loved her in Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona.
Does what it takes?… interesting. I expected to read something totally different based on that title. =^_^=
What’s the big deal? It’s part of the job, right? I just hate every actress who “dirties/uglies up” to get an Oscar for it. (Julia Roberts, anyone?)
She was kind of scary in Gothika… I definitely think should could pull an “ugly character” off.
That’s what acting is all about. Real people don’t always look gorgeous…real people aren’t always gorgeous. So it makes sense for Penelope Cruz to not mind about being made ugly. That’s part of the job. I’m back and I’m clad in plaid
I think she is really pretty and I love her voice, along with her cute accent
Ditto.
Isn’t that pary of acting?—em’s
