NICOLE by Nicole Richie:
An exclusive collection for Pea In The Pod
Everywhere you look these days, you can find at least one or more celebrity mom starting up a new business! Some are inventing, some designing and some are blogging! On a recent trot through virtual world, I ran across one of these entrepreneurial mommies! Nicole Richie, has designed a really cute line of jewelry, headed up an amazing charity and now, on August 7th, 2009 she is adding a line of maternity clothing to her repertoire!
She always seems to look so comfortable yet stylish… I never could pull off her Boho look, but I know a lot of women can! I am done having kids, but if I weren’t I might just have given this a chance.
What about you, would you wear Nicole’s line? I moseyed on over to her blog and I found this little tidbit…
She has posted a few pictures from the day of the shoot. I think she looks beautiful! Let me know what you think! So far no price range yet, but I bet that won’t stop sales from soaring!

Michaels Craft Super Store Is My Summer Hero!
Posted on August 04, 2009 at 7:14 PM
It’s getting to be that time of summer when the kids start
to complain about getting bored and not having enough to do. At this point, my
oldest is heading into her sophomore year in high school, my middle one is
heading into the 5th grade and my youngest is gearing up for
kindergarten. The age range in my house is an obstacle and a blessing. High
School is all about hanging out with friends which is great but I got one that
is an over achiever and driven to the max! She took a summer course to get
ahead so that kept us on the home front. My middle one is pretty easy going but
I really wanted to do something special for her so I signed her up for an art
class at our community center. The teacher is a gem! She is an award winning
artist and teaches at all of the great art colleges! She loves every minute of
it! This brings me to my youngest. My 5 ½ year old going on 35. She uses words
such as “inappropriate” and “you’re killing me mom”. She is just bored, I know
because she tells me every five minutes! So today after realizing that the park
is way too hot and I don’t want to spend a ton of money, I need a plan…
So, what am I left with? Michaels
and a 40% off coupon.(50% off for new customers) My 5 year old has had it
with her toys and I refuse to buy anymore “crap”, so we are headed to the
crafters paradise and then some. I did
mention that I don’t craft, didn’t I?!? No? Oh, well that’s ok, because I can
pick up an age appropriate idea online, then head on over to pick it up!Here is what we have decided to check out; I
think this is actually doable! HA!
Fine, I knew this stuff existed, I just never thought I
would almost bow down in all of its crafty glory! My daughter is gonna love
this! (me too, truthfully)
They have this great section full of kid friendly ideas called
“The Knack“. You
browse around for the idea or the age range and then it provides a printable
shopping list! I can so do this! This site has an idea for every occasion!
WOOHOO…
And the “featured products” section
lists items and describes what they are great for! This is helpful so that we
don’t have to stand in the aisle longer than necessary as we lovingly yell at
our kids as they nag us for the stickers they just have to have or they will
die!
Anything beats cleaning up what I call the “bored to death”
messes. Moms know these all too well! They are the “toy/pull every plastic
container out of the cupboard” messes that clutter every room in the house an
in fact are known to moms to step on a toy and yell a not so mommy word, or
two! So, check it out! I am off to Michaels…
DO NOT forget to sign up for the coupon!
And remember moms, just because we might throw this away in
a few years, doesn’t mean we can’t have fun today! At least until they get
bored again…
Prices vary by project, but my budget is no more than $15. I
think we are going to start with the “Sea Scene Pail”
