Yes… it’s another vampire themed production. Is it overkill? We shall see opening weekend – won’t we?

A young boy named Darren Shan meets a mysterious man at a freak show who turns out to be a Vampire. After a series of events Darren must leave his normal life and go on the road with the Cirque Du Freak and become a Vampire

Take a look at ‘The Vampire’s Assistant‘ starring John C. Reily and based on a series of books by Darren Shan. Let me know if this is something you are considering watching.

  1. The Cirque Du Freak books were first published around 5 years before Twilight hit the bookshelves. This is NOT a rip-off and will likely be far superior.

  2. aww it looks good to me
    fun and imaginative
sometimes life is so shitty books and movies aimed for the younger audience are funner less realistic obviously but provides a few hours of escape from your own life

  3. It looks really good. John C. Reilly is amazing in everything!!! I never got into the Twilight stuff but I would see this.

  4. It actually looks a bit intriguing. I don’t blame Twilight for the vamp craze. Vampires have always been a huge draw in books & movies.

  5. how many are in the series? I’ve never heard of them before but the movie looks totally awesome!

and to whom ever blamed twilight.. and the one that said twi ripping off buffy… open your eyes a bit and read and watch some stuff. Interview with a vampire, buffy, angel, nosferatu, etc…. all before twilight. each series has it’s own type of vampires.

  6. I’ve read the entire Cirque Du Freak series… they came out LONG BEFORE Twilight. They are nothing like Twilight… it is not a Romance. They are darker. So excited!

  7. omg, are you kidding me? The author named the main character in the book his own name. Hmmm…interesting. I’m back and I’m clad in plaid :)
