Brittany Murphy Calls Police After Hearing Gunfire

Posted on October 28, 2009 at 3:23 PM

Brittany Murphy got quite a scare last night! According to TMZ, her neighbors called the police at about 2:30 this morning to complain about the noise Brittany was making. Brittany reportedly was screaming because she thought she heard gunshots being fired outside her home.

That would make me scream.

When LAPD arrived on the scene, they saw the panicked actress on her balcony, yelling about the alleged gun fire.

No weapon, bullet or body was found — and after an investigation, the noise was discovered to be coming from a generator, which had been acting up due to the funky L.A. weather last night.

Thank goodness everyone was safe! Hopefully the police advised Brittany to call 911 herself if she thought she heard gunshots outside in the future, but I don’t blame her for being panicked.

  1. or she was on drugs. no one else in the neighborhood called about the “gunshots” only about her freaking out.

  2. You know if it was gunshots it would probably be best to not be outside making a big fuss about it. Go inside, close your door, call emergency and stay out the way.

  3. it’s funny she went a little crazy lol. but i just feel bad for her for that moment she was actually scared.

  4. She really is kooky, eh? What the hell…weird.

Lis, I agree w/you. We thought we heard gunshots outside in our street the other day..so what does my husband do? Throws open the front door and marches out there. I’m like WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!?!?! aye yi yi…

  5. Oh wow! THANK GOD everyone is safe because like OMGGGG that generator could have killed everyone! *gasp*
