Sarah Michelle Gellar And Freddie Prinze Jr. Talk Babies
Posted on November 06, 2009 at 6:44 PM

Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. became first-time parents back in September when Sarah gave birth to Charlotte Grace. The couple talked to People magazine about their decision to wait a while before jumping into parenthood.
Sarah Michelle says that as soon as they got married back in 2002 people started asking when they were going to have kids.
“Becoming a parent is the most selfless act, and you need to be at a point in your life where you can give up anything and everything for a child,” “I don’t know if you know how to do that when you’re in your 20s.”
Freddie agrees with his wife, adding:
“I’m so happy we didn’t have kids in our 20s – I just didn’t know a thing. You have so much more patience in your 30s, and I feel like I appreciate this so much more.”
Sarah’s loving being a new mom to Charlotte.
“Every day I look at her and I am in awe,”
I just love these two! They never did get into that whole clubbing scene or any of that “stuff”. They’ve always seemed like such a normal, grounded couple. Married for 7 years in Hollywood is pretty amazing.
Freddie is set to star in the upcoming season of 24. I’m assuming it’ll be a more serious role. I’m still upset that they canceled his show Freddie. He and Brian Austin Green were hilarious in it! It’s been 3 years and I’m still a little bitter. lol

Having a child IS NOT A SELFLESS ACT. I am SO SICK of women acting like they did something so selfless and so amazing when they have a kid. I was actually told by someone on this site who has kids that women almost ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS have kids for SELFISH reasons. And to the mother who is in denial about over population get a grip maybe you should read more then gossip sites.
I am glad everyone feels that they are entitled to bring more kids into this shit ass world. You people are all delusional if you think thats its ok to just keep reproducing. Its not. How come everyone is broke yet everyone keeps having kids?
Trolls!
Can’t wait to see more pictures of Charlotte. her parents are gorgeous!
imagine that there are different people out there who have the same opinion. unbelievable!!!
that’s because the world is full of many many many peoples.
i wouldn’t do something good for humanity. humans destroy our nature because they are so selfish and kill animals – because they think they are more important than other beings.
most people think when they put another kid on this planet they did something like…do their job in the game of life successful.
i think that sucks.
good point. people are complaining about money problems and those people are the ones who give birth all the time. like some crazy birth machines.
it’s about the WORLD. not just a COUNTRY.
theres no global population decrease. YOU should read a book instead just google about population.
audrey, i can see why your daughter is a strong woman, it took guts for you to admit that
kudos
Instead of parroting this stupid theory, maybe you should do some research. Developed nations like the US and most of the Western countries do not contribute to population growth. Not only that, but there is actually currently a decrease in population even in places like India.
Japan currently has an immense population issue because they have no young people to sustain their society. There are so many old people and no one to take care of them. At some points, they’re committing crimes to get themselves arrested and thrown in jail just so they can have a place to sleep and three square meals a day. Japan has had to train their officers in elderly care simply because of this.
So yeah, keep on thinking that not having babies will help in the long run.
Wow, you’re not too bright are you?
There is no such thing as an overpopulation problem in a developed place like the United States or any other Western country. Some of you people are so bloody stupid for ranting about overpopulation before doing some actual research.
There’s a global population decrease on the horizon, not a population increase. You should read a book sometime.

I’m guessing you’re the same person who’s posted negative shit all four times on this post?
Why don’t you do something good for humanity if you feel so strongly instead of spending your time complaining on a gossip website?
Honey…i was talking economics not politics…but of course, you’re the smartest! Even though you can’t make the difference between those 2…anyway I already reproduced! And I intend to do it some more…If you’re dumb enough not to realize who the real polluters are…just live in ignorance then…after all, its bliss, right?
Not everyone can afford the up front cash payment it takes to adopt a child. Yes having a baby can be expensive and will cost you in the end millions of dollars, but it is spread out over their life time and not something you have to have cash in hand for. There is a difference between a couple having one child and someone having 14 or 20 of them.
I had my first child when I was a teenager, and my second when I was in my mid 30s. There is a huge difference between the way they were raised, and it has everything to do with maturity and patience and tolerance that I was severly lacking when I was young. I am blessed because despite my horrible parenting abilities, my eldest daughter has grown into a beautiful, strong woman who finds humor in most of the things we went through together, and doesn’t play the blame game for my questionable choices.
What an ignorant comment. Guess what Sarah, women in their 20′s have been SELFLESSLY having and raising children for a pretty long time now.
I totally agree with you. That took a lot of guts, Audrey.
Wow, I never knew the birth of a child could bring on so much bullshit. LOL!
Seriously. I’m almost wishing she hadn’t bothered introducing baby Charlotte since there are insane people who seem to hate children and the people who birth them.
by the way…your mom and dad did the same thing…make it right, kill yourself
I think they are perfectly matched. Looking forward to seeing who the baby looks like the most.
Thats not true what she’s saying!! I am 23 and my son is 1year 3 months! It was my decision to get pregnant. I couldnt do better! I think you have more patience when you are young. people over 30s got used to their lifes, and then the baby comes and you have to resign from your safe and sound life. hha! but she was too busy with her career so now she finds excuses…
no shit……
God! you crazy people!!! A child came into this world!! Like all of you did! What gives you the right to judge in such a way! Do you think, that all children are born in the perfect situation? With loving parents that have money and want just one child not to overpopulate the earth? Where the hell do you live? All the judges, please take a look at the family that you are coming from, guess what? ITS NOT PERFECT! There isn’t such a thing as a perfect family. And geuss what…you are not gonna live forever! Our children are the next generation, so start making some and raise them the best you can if you want the human kind to live. All can you do is to give the the proper education, to respect the land that they live on. Thats where it all starts, EDUCATION…not stop having children…
“by the way…your mom and dad did the same thing…make it right, kill yourself”
dumbest.comment.ever.
you should go and start figure out how our environment works and that there are too many human beings. it’s not about politics – it’s about our environment. but you are just one more of those stupid morons who don’t think before they write.
i hope you dont’ reproduce yourself. i really do.
It was the right choice for her.
yeah…selfless …blablabla….becoming a parent is the most selfISH act!
people like her are ovepopulating the planet instead of adoping kids in need. gettin’ pregnant is so much easier…………adopting is a selfless act!
and what is it that people are gettin’ knocked up like bunnys lately? not cool.
you must be missing half a brain. When I hear people like you with the overpopulating theory, makes me think that people are getting crazier by the year. Think for a second…what happens with a society with no young people? because thats what you’re asking. Your theory is so irrational that i wonder if you are sane or not…You deserve to get old and have nobody to take care of you and have nobody to pay your pension…because thats how it works, young people work and pay your pension, do services that older people cant ad did when they were young. A society with more older people then young, is a dead society.
Yes, because obviously I simple googled to find that theory. I didn’t learn any of it via professors or books or journals and educational magazines. It’s funny that you think information found via google isn’t as relevant as the information found in books. You can find articles and census reports via google, you know? I’m guessing you probably tried and couldn’t find anything worth while?
Firstly, instead of bitching about how a random celebrity couple in a developed nation with a decreasing population is having babies, maybe you should join the Peace Corp and go educate poor people in underdeveloped nations that actually needs contraceptive methods to control their population.
Secondly, this isn’t just about America or Europe or any other Westernized nation with decreasing populations. Overpopulation hysteria was due to theories presented back in the 1970s. Global aging and population decrease is a recent phenomenon, predicted back in the late 1990s and early 2000s. There is negative growth in many countries across the globe. This does not mean that every single country is experiencing the same trend, this means there’s a decline in countries that normally have population increase due to high fertility rates (two of the largest that contribute to increases in population being China and India). Places like India, which normally have high growth in population have been experiencing a decline in fertility and birth rates since 2002. A global decline has been predicted for some time and there have been a number of scholarly articles on the subject and census reports. “Reductions of fertility slow down population growth and produce reductions in the number of births and in the proportion of children in the population, triggering the process of population ageing.” This decrease contributes to an increase of elderly people living and a decrease in babies and young people of working age. Here’s an article from 2002, that’s talks about the trend in the coming years:
Two years ago, as the world’s population surpassed the high mark of 6 billion, scientists were sounding alarm bells over unchecked population growth, especially in the developing world.
But now there is a growing consensus among demographers over a new forecast: that women in nations with 80 percent of the world’s population will begin to limit their families to two children or fewer.
etc.
There are still nations in Africa and the Middle East where average fertility rates are still high. But their weight in global terms isn’t great enough to prevent the world’s population from gradually moving toward stabilization and perhaps even decline.

Speaking of ignorant comments, are you projecting too much or what? Some of you are taking this shit straight to the heart as if she personally insulted you. She said she and her husband did what was best for them.
You need to take a break from the internet.
Babies Babies Babies, everyone keeps making babies.
Uh huh, cause her nose really has held her back. Uh huh….????
Wow, very mature… applaud everyone, because making fun of facial features is the best our friend here can come up with for such a story.
what do freddie prinze jr, odepus and john milton have in common? they are all blind. and i agree on the nose thing sarah could be miss piggy and freddie can be the frog kermit with all his worts….
hope the kid did not get her nose…
its called an opinion..get over it
repeat much? uh-huh?
LOL !!!
LOL!!!
It’s just not a funny, amusing or particularly entertaining one.
My name is Ariel and I do not approve of your comment.
def. one og my role models.
def. one of my role models.
That was possibly the lamest comment I have ever read anywhere. What are you? Five?
Are you even allowed on the internet?
I like Freddie.
I think he is adorable. He seems like such a good hearted, genuine guy. No ego…very attractive to me.
such a great couple. love them. I use to watch Freddie too, I don’t know why it didn’t get that big of a following, it was hilarious!
i love her, she seems really down to earth. i used to be the biggest buffy fan
I still am, actually, I’m popping the first season on my dvd right now, gotta go!
I think some people are grounded enough to become parents at a young age, but it’s good on them for realizing they weren’t in this group.
aw good for them. i completely agree with what she says…
Man, I’ve been away for too long. I didn’t realize she’d had the baby!
Yep, I’ll agree with her. As much as I can’t wait to have a baby one day, I will definitely wait till my later 20′s. I am too selfish and busy right now and want to pursue other things first. Yay for condoms and the pill.
