NBC confirmed to E!Online that Joel McHale will be “acquiring” a new love interest on ‘Community’. Lauren Stamile, who fans might recognize as Patrick Dempsey’s former love interest on Grey’s Anatomy, will be joining ‘Community’ for a “multi-episode arc”.

“Lauren played Patrick Dempsey’s love interest on Grey’s Anatomy and is now my love interest,” Joel tells us. “So eat that, Patrick Dempsey!”

Lauren has already guest starred on a Halloween episode where she played a stats teacher. The storyline will go something like this:

“Jeff and I have been keeping this a secret for a while,” Lauren tells us of the first episode after the new year (and community college winter break).

“There’s a strict policy about students dating teachers for legal reasons, as the dean describes it,” explains Joel. Lauren adds: “The dean comes into our office mid-makeout and he doesn’t quite catch us, but he’s suspecting things.”

Any Grey’s fans excited to see Lauren on another show? Community fans? I have to admit that I haven’t checked out this new show yet – I need to!

Tyra Banks is one good interrogator. Today she “badgered” model Jessica White into revealing her relationship with nearly divorced actor, Sean Penn. Jessica and Sean had been snapped out and about together less than a month after Robin Wright filed for divorce. Jessica was a guest on Tyra’s show today and Tyra didn’t beat around the bush with the questioning:

“Is Sean Penn your boyfriend? I saw you with him,” Tyra Banks asks White, a former guest judge on America’s Next Top Model’s Cycle 13. “Can I say that? Is that OK, is that too much?”

“No, it’s not too much,” White replies.

Tyra then holds up photos of the two holding hands. At first Jessica says the two are friends:

“I hold hands with my friends,” she says

“Ooooh, she’s dating Sean Penn!” Banks replies.

“No, I didn’t say that,” White says. “[We] used to. Past tense

So, she admits it but tries to play it off like things have now cooled off between the two. There must not be hard feelings, though, because she says this of Sean:

“He is a very sweet guy.”

This is how Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes celebrated their anniversary. Tom was snapped out jogging and Katie was hard at work on the set of “The Romantics”. Not very romantic, but pretty typical for most couples, right?

I wonder how these two will (or already did) celebrate? Do you think they are elaborate with it or more of a low-key pair? I’d love to know if they exchange gifts!

Martha Stewart filmed an interview for an upcoming episode of Nightline to talk about rebuilding her brand. Martha had some pretty harsh things to say about Rachael Ray. She goes after Ray’s inability to bake and also makes a dig about Rachael’s new cookbook.

“Well, to me, she professed that she could — cannot bake,” Stewart says of Ray in the interview, airing Thursday. “She — just did a new cookbook which is just a re-edit of a lot of her old recipes. She — and that’s not good enough for me.”

Ouch. She goes on to pretty much say that hers will be superior:

Stewart says she want to publish something that “is a unique and lasting thing. Something that will really fulfill a need in someone’s library.” Ray, she says, “is different.”

Martha then says that Rachael is more entertainment than teaching:

“more of an entertainer … with her bubbly personality, than she is a teacher, like me. That’s not what she’s professing to be.”

Rachael took the high road and had this to say about Martha’s digs:

“Why would it make me mad?” Ray asks. “Her skill set is far beyond mine. That’s simply the reality of it.”

“that doesn’t mean that what I do isn’t important too… I don’t consider it needling. I really just think she’s being honest. She does have a better skill set than I do when it comes to producing a beautiful, perfect, high-quality meal.” Says Ray, “I’d rather eat Martha’s than mine, too.”

I give Rachael credit for not slinging any mud back at her. Do you think you understand what Martha is trying to convey, but think it’s coming out a bit wrong? Or do you think she’s just being snarky?

Nicole Richie has checked herself into the hospital. Her rep released this statement:

“Nicole has checked into Ceders Sinai where she is being treated for pneumonia. She is doing well.”

Nicole had missed the launch of her House of Harlow jewelry line back on November 10th, citing illness back then already.

Pneumonia is miserable! I hope she’s feeling better quickly and there aren’t any complications. I wonder if Joel is still out traveling with Good Charlotte?
