Olivia Wilde For Lucky Magazine

Posted on December 02, 2009 at 5:54 PM

The beautiful Olivia Wilde is on the January 2010 cover of Lucky. Here are a few quotes from the upcoming interview.

Olivia Wilde’s alter ego-at least when it comes to fashion-is French: “I find myself constantly pretending I’m a chic Parisian,” says the L.A.-based actress. “I even dream of buying a Balmain jacket with really sharp shoulders. If I can pull off that look, I will have succeeded, at least partially, in my quest.”

Her favorite bargain haunt:
“Coats from H&M are inexpensive and usually have something extra going on-so even with a simple sheath dress, your outfit is still interesting.”

The January issue of Lucky is on nationwide newsstands December 8.

Kimora Lee Simmons For Page Six Magazine

Posted on December 02, 2009 at 5:20 PM

Model turned mogul Kimora Lee Simmons and her new beau, actor Djimon Hounsou, are building a life together the only way she knows how-with “fabulosity.”

In the next edition of Page Six Magazine, free inside the New York Post on December 3, the family models for its first-ever holiday family portrait of Kimora, Djimon and kids Ming Lee, 9, Aoki Lee, 7, and 5-month-old Kenzo (in a sweater to match his dad’s) in their 40,000-square-foot Saddle River Mansion, one of the largest personal residences in the state of New Jersey.

Check out the exclusive video of the photo shoot here.

On her life with her new husband, and the rumors that their marriage is not a legal one:

“We’re married. That’s all. It happened in Africa, in Benin. The girls were there, and we had a wonderful time. It was very calm, family-motivated and spiritual. Djimon and I enjoy discussing anything from politics to wine, and we have enriching, private, happy, balanced lives together. That’s probably the thing that would shock people most: We do things like go to the grocery store and have fun with our kids. We’re a normal family, doing the best we can.”

On being a self-made entrepreneur and independent woman:

“It’s absolutely true! Do I need anything from [Djimon]?” No. I focus on my kids. I work my butt off. That might be one high-maintenance thing about me: My schedule is always crazy. So am I up and on the phone early in the morning? Yes. Is that sometimes annoying? Yes. But I hold my weight emotionally in a relationship. At times, sure, if you’re down and I’m up, and I can lend you a hand, or vice versa, great. I’m a very supportive partner.”

On making time for her children:

“My family is the most important thing to me. I’ve never missed any type of performance-not one recital, not one karate belt. If there’s a toe being tapped or a tune being whistled, I am there. We do everything together. I know we live a little bit of a different life, with all the running around and the TV show, so I want to make sure we’re even more grounded.”

On hosting a traditional Christmas at home with her family:

“I bake. I make a great German chocolate cake. Anyone who knows me will tell you I’m a great baker, the best. When I bake something, I swear to god, it’s gone before it hits the plate.”

Mischa Barton Says Being Hospitalized Was A Good Thing

Posted on December 02, 2009 at 4:28 PM

Mischa Barton thinks being placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold was a “good” thing. It gave her the chance to take time out and reassess her life.

“I went to the hospital because of pain with my wisdom teeth and I ended up getting ‘put in’, but that’s because I was so overwhelmingly stressed out and upset.

“I think it was my teeth and the stress of having a new job and traveling. I was miserable. Actresses aren’t given the time to recover after stuff like that – you’re expected to bounce back from surgery and work right away again.

“I was shocked it went that far but I think it was necessary for me to take that time out. I’m so much more settled and calm now.

“Ultimately, it was a positive thing.”

Mischa also says that it could have happened to anyone! She added to Heat magazine:

“It’s something that could’ve happened to anyone – going into hospital and having a bad experience then being held on an involuntary psychiatric hold. It happens to more people than you’d know. It’s a common thing.”

Really? Do you know anyone that went into the hospital for pain and ended up getting admitted for psychiatric evaluation? I’d say it’s not such a common thing. Mischa must have really been acting out for the hospital staff to react in such a way.

Sarah Jessica Parker Doesn’t Want Her Kids To Be Spoiled

Posted on December 02, 2009 at 3:23 PM

Sarah Jessica Parker has always struck me as a woman who has things together, and her latest interview with Glamour confirms it for me. She told the magazine (in their January issue) that she doesn’t want her children to be spoiled.

“I don’t want my children to feel they have a sense of entitlement. I want them to work hard and be challenged. That’s hard to do when you have everything you need and want, so I am working on those values all the time.”

I imagine she’d have to work hard! On one hand, don’t we all want our kids to have everything we can give them? Yet, no one wants their kid to be the spoiled brat. It’s a constant balancing act.

Then again, there are certainly worse problems to have in life :)
