Here’s the first look at the remake of ‘The Karate Kid’ movie. It stars Jackie Chan, Jaden Smith, and Taraji P. Henson. The remake will have a bit of a different spin to it:

Work pressures cause a single mother moves to China with her young son; in his new home, the boy embraces karate, taught to him by a master of the self-defense form.

Are you happy about this remake? I’ll admit that it seems different to cast someone as young as Jaden (11), when the original had a very teenage-looking Ralph Macchio for the teen girls to swoon over (even though he was 23 at the time). lol But I’ve heard great things about how disciplined and hard Jaden worked on this film! In fact, Jackie Chan shared very high praises of him:

“He put my son to shame! I provided my son with the best martial artists in the world, and he could not be persuaded to try it. In just two months, Jaden had learned so much. He is truly a talented boy.
“Training in martial arts is hard work. It takes years to perfect even one punch or kick. Jaden’s father is a famous celebrity, and Jaden probably knows he could get away without having to work very hard.

What did you think of the trailer? I love the little bit of homage that they paid to Mr. Miyagi with the fly/chopstick clip.

Randy Quaid finally had his day in court. The actor and his wife, Evi, had been accused of running out on a hotel bill bill back in September, and then failed to show up for several hearings and had warrants issued for their arrest. Today the two made it to their hearing and plead not guilty.

The judge recalled the earlier arrest warrants and also lowered their bail to $20,000 each. The two are due back in court March 1st for a preliminary hearing.

“A lot of things can happen between now and then,” Santa Barbara Detective Rod Forney, who worked on the case, tells PEOPLE. “It could be dropped to a misdemeanor or there could be some kind of plea.”

The couple didn’t speak to any press but their attorney shared this:

They were never on the run from the law,” Ponton said. “There’s a lot of misinformation out there about this. It’s much ado about nothing.”

I think if it was a simple misunderstanding, it would’ve been handled a lot quicker and quieter, don’t you think? Hopefully they can get this settled before the March 1st hearing and put this wacky tale behind them.

It’s hard to believe that little Bronx is over one year old already! He was snapped today heading to FAO Schwartz with his mom and dad, a.k.a. Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Pete Wentz.

I bet Pete and Ashlee are excited to watch him open presents this year. Last year he was only about 4 weeks old at Christmas. lol At age one, they still don’t always “get it”, but next year he’ll have it down pat for sure! I wonder what “Auntie Jessica” got for him?

Pamela Anderson can’t be accused of being vain today! The actress was seen arriving at the New Wimbledon Theatre (where’s she performing in Aladdin) with NO makeup, hair not yet done. She got out of the vehicle and attempted to hide her face and duck inside, but the fans REALLY wanted autographs, so she graciously obliged. She went over and started signing away.

Now that’s bravery! I hate to answer my door without makeup on, so I give her a lot of credit for doing this! I’m sure her fans appreciated it.

TMZ is reporting that Brittany Murphy did leave behind a will. It looks like the will was made before her marriage to Simon Monjack and it stipulates that everything be left to her mother, Sharon Murphy. Brittany’s home is in a trust and only her name is listed on the deed.

There’s always the possibility that it was amended after her marriage, but it’s not known at this time if that’s the case.

I don’t know how it all works, but I’d assume that Simon would be entitled to her assets? I don’t know much about these types of situations. Do you think he’ll end up with everything? Do you think he should, as her spouse? Also, I wonder if he’s still considered a legal resident of the U.S. now that she’s passed away? Anyone know how that works?

Brittany’s estranged half-brother, Jeff Bertolotti, lashed out at those around her and even lays blame on Hollywood itself, in a statement today.

“Look, if she died at 32, something is not right,” he says. “What happened? I don’t get it. At 32 years old something happened. I don’t know what. I’m sure there was no foul play. It’s just that something is wrong. … It’s heartbreaking. I was crazy about that kid.” “I’m not saying it’s their fault, but I do think they should have taken care of her better,” he says. “I think she should have been cared for.”

“People come into the town with their dreams and get chewed up alive and those who make it get chewed up alive anyway. And that’s what happened to Brittany,” he says. “She’s a casualty of that town.”

Actress Emma Watson is happy to be back home for her semester break from Brown University, but she will not be getting too much rest and relaxation! She shared on her Christmas blog:

Hi everyone. I’ve just returned from Brown where I’ve had the most amazing first term and now I’m back filming Harry Potter over the Christmas Holidays. I’ve loved being in the States but it’s so nice to be back at home with family and friends for Christmas. I’m so excited that they are filming for The Deathly Hallows Pt. 2, but I’m sure Emma will be glad to catch a break when it’s over! Between college and career, she’s going to be exhausted!
