There was some buzzing this morning about the fact that Farrah Fawcett was not recognized in the “In Memoriam” montage at the Academy Awards last night. Some thought it must have been a mistake, but that’s not the case.

A spokeswoman for the Academy:

I would not say that it was an oversight,” Leslie Unger, spokeswoman for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, tells E! News. “No matter how carefully and how conscientiously people address who is included, there are people who just simply can’t be. In any given year there will always be some people that other people think should have been included and that there’s more justification for one person versus another,” says Unger. “It is impossible to include everybody.”

Craig Nevius, a close friend of Farrah’s is not buying it:

how you can discount Extremities [which earned her a Globe nom for Best Actress in a Drama], The Apostle [which earned her an Independent Spirit nom for Best Supporting Actress] and Dr. T and the Women, I don’t know.

Some are disgruntled, saying that the Academy made sure Michael Jackson was included when he had a much smaller resume than Farrah.

Sienna Miller was snapped today spending some time with her parents in NYC. The trio had paid a visit to Jude Law at his SoHo hotel and then took a stroll around the city.

I’m trying to figure out what Sienna’s mom is doing in that first gallery photo – looks like she’s trying to “ward off” the paparazzi. LOL!

Hugh Jackman was photographed today as he picked up daughter Ava from school. This post should be titled “the many faces of Ava Jackman”. She’s making some of the funniest faces in this set of pictures. And I am loving those adorable purple striped leggings/tights with matching purple Nike shoes! Too cute!!

Even though Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin did a great job with the Oscar hosting last night, I still secretly pined for Hugh. He was excellent last year and I hope they tap him for the gig again in the future.

Kelly Ripa and Regis Philbin can now add “crime fighting duo” to their resume. America’s Most Wanted’s host, John Walsh, appeared on Live With Regis and Kelly to talk about the upcoming 1,000th episode of his show. He also chatted about the criminal they would be profiling – a former state corrections officer Albert James Turner, Jr. wanted for murder. After seeing the snippit on Regis & Kelly, a viewer recognized him and called – the tip led to his arrest!

As a U.S. Marshal’s press release states,

“a viewer tip led to Turner’s arrest this morning at a mall in Concord, N.C. He was taken into custody without incident.”

“The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitive Task Force, along with the Rosenberg (Texas) Police Department, had been searching for Turner for the Dec. 27, 2009 murders of his wife, Keitha Turner, and mother-in-law Betty Joe Frank. Turner’s wife and her mother died from stab wounds to the face and neck – injuries inflicted in the presence of a number of Turner’s children. Turner fled the Texas crime scene and had been on the run prior to his arrest this morning.”

According to this article, it might be the first time that a “most wanted” criminal was nabbed prior to the show airing! Way to help out, Regis & Kelly!!

Kelly was snapped outside the David Letterman Show this afternoon (looking amazing, as usual!). I wonder if this is what she’s there to chat about for tonight’s show?

Joshua Jackson has plenty of reasons to smile – his show, ‘Fringe’ was picked up for a third season.

Joshua was spotted at the Vancouver airport today looking like he was in a great mood. What’s not to be happy about? He’s dating the beautiful Diane Kruger and his show was renewed. Life is good for this former ‘Dawson’s Creek’ star.

Are you a ‘Fringe’ fan? I’m sure the fans are relieved that it was renewed since it struggles to get the “big numbers”. Fox must have faith in the show!
