Anna Faris To Star In ‘Private Benjamin’ Remake
Posted on March 31, 2010 at 3:13 PM

Do you remember the original ‘Private Benjamin’ with Goldie Hawn from 1980? I saw it on video a looong time ago: it’s about a spoiled woman who enlists in the army after her husband dies during sex on their wedding night.
Anna Faris has signed on to star in the remake. I have to say, she’s the comedic actress I’d select to re-do one of Goldie’s roles (although I’d love to see her in original movies even more
.
The new take will set the story in contemporary times with modern wars as the backdrop. Insiders say the studio doesn’t want to poke fun at the men and women in the service or take political potshots, but rather focus on the empowerment elements and build on the fish-out-of-water comedy.
Are you a fan of Anna? Are you looking forward to a remake of ‘Private Benjamin’?

I wonder what Jessica Simpson’s thoughts are on this?? Her “Private Benjamin” remake did go straight to the dvd bins.
Wouldn’t Kate Hudson be the better choice? I’m not her biggest fan but she looks just like her mom & has that same goofy personality
::SIGH::
I guess this is it, Hollywood? No more original ideas?
I’m. Tired. Of. Remakes. I haven’t seen one yet that was better, or even came close to, the original.
I second this comment!!! I am so sick of remakes and sequels, they’re never good! Let’s use Anna’s talent for original material!
No! Not Kate Hudson! No!
Here, here! Seriously, there should be a moratorium on remakes for at least a year.
That’s the truth! Why mess with a classic?
totally agree…no more original ideas…..and anna faris is WAY funnier than kate hudson
What?!? Mon amie, please don’t you be talking smack about one of the old time greats. DW Griffith wished he made it. Of course if he did, well we won’t say what kind of tone that movie would have had.
Oh goodie, another remake!!! This movie was crap the first time around
oh god another crappy remake of an already good movie. is creativity completely dead in hollyweird except for the blue people movie? indie movies are much better.
Yes, please:) And when I say its great, I mean it’s bad great, you know.
LOL sorry man, maybe I should rewatch it?
