Kate Winslet Refuses To Bring Her Kids On Set
Posted on April 06, 2010 at 11:14 AM

Kate Winslet no longer feels guilty about being a working mom. When her children were younger, the press would get to her from time to time, but now the actress insists things have changed. She told The Times:
“I don’t feel guilty about working now. When Mia was younger I did, but that was largely to do with the press. You know, ‘She’s off and the child gets left behind’. You just want to kill yourself when you read those things.
Many Hollywood moms like to bring their children on set and keep them occupied in their trailer while busy on set. However, Kate prefers to have her children living their own lives while she is working.
“Mia and Joe are not on-set movie kids. I don’t ever have them hang out in the trailer, because I don’t like the notion that they are sort of beholden to my schedule, not knowing when they’re going to see me. I’d rather, you know, give them a big kiss in the morning before I go off to work.”
What’s your take on this? Do you think it’s better to bring the kids to set? Or leave them at home?

i have alot of respect for her as a mom.
i wouldn’t want them on the movie sets…never know what they may be subjected too…
Ditto.
I don’t bring my kids to work with me, why should she?
Exactly!
well said!
I agree.
I agree with her for older kids but not babies. Older kids would get bored stuck in mom’s trailer all day.
agree with everyone above
