Nicollette Sheridan Sues ‘Desperate Housewives’ Creator Marc Cherry Over Wrongful Termination

WOW! This certainly came out of the blue, didn’t it? I thought the split was amicable?!

It was announced today that Nicollette Sheridan is suing ‘Desperate Housewives’ creator Marc Cherry. The actress has launched a legal battle with the show’s creator over allegations he slapped her during a fight about the script and then fired her when she complained to producers.

In the legal papers, obtained by TMZ.com, Sheridan claims Cherry “forcefully hit her with his hand across her face and head”. She is suing for assault and battery, gender violence and wrongful termination.

The actress also maintains that Cherry created a hostile work environment by “behaving in an extremely abusive and aggressive manner toward the individuals who work on the show”.

This is unreal! If Marc really hit Sheridan and then killed her off shortly thereafter, I’d say she has a fight in this battle. I just wonder why she took so long to come forward with the information. Maybe she needed time to process what happened.

The dark side of Hollywood.

  1. Wow these are pretty legit allegations. I doubt she would say this if it wasn’t true so she probably has a good chance!

  4. I’m not sure I believe it too. I hope someone was there when he slapped her so they can testify. I don’t think she has much of a case based on a slap that probably didn’t even leave a mark. I know she’s also suing for being terminated, but I’ve never heard of anyone winning something like that. (It’s probably happened, though)

  5. Best of luck to her. It isn’t easy to go against your employer. I think she took some time because she needed to research & think about it as it’s not something you do lightly. I’m in a similar situation and still trying to decide wether to purue anything due to stress, money etc. Maybe if more people stood up against bullies, their employers would take it more seriously.

  6. I think she filed suit before, but the judge found the case, “without merit”. The best of luck to her.

  7. I have a very hard time believing this. If he “forcefully slapped” her why not do something about it the moment it happens? Call the cops and press charges so there is a police report then, after she was fired, she has that to back up her story.

I don’t know it all seems too weird to me. How long has this show been going on for and no one has ever mentioned a problem with him before this?

  8. I dunno….something about admitting NOW that he slapped her? I mean, why wait to long? Not that there is “proof” like a rape, but still…. :/
