What a difference a day makes! One day after celebutante Paris Hilton was arrested at the World Cup on suspicion of drug possession, she has received an apology from the police and they have dropped their complaint. According to what Paris’ rep told E! News, at least.

“I can confirm that the incident was a complete misunderstanding,” her rep says. “The case has been dropped against Paris and no charges will be made. The authorities have apologized for wrongfully accusing her since she had nothing to do with the incident. Paris is having an incredible time at the World Cup.”

Apparently someone else in Paris’ entourage said the marijuana in question was theirs, pled guilty, and was ordered to pay a small fine.

We saw that Jessica Simpson attended the Grand Casino Club opening at West Virginia here. What I didn’t mention was that for Jessica, the event had an extra twist: she reportedly was surprised with a birthday cake during the opening (it’s in the bottom-right portion of the picture above).

This will be Jessica’s thirtieth birthday. I hope she has an even bigger celebration for herself!

‘Twilight‘ star Robert Pattinson is still hard at work shooting his new movie, ‘Water for Elephants.’ He looks tired, doesn’t he? It can’t be easy to have to shoot one movie and still have time to promote another movie (‘Twilight Saga: Eclipse’) at the same time.

The paparazzi also got pictures of some of the extras for the scene (it must be some kind of party scene One enterprising extra took advantage of the paparazzi attention to advertise her website. She has initiative- LOL.

Well, hopefully this birthday celebration turned out better for Lindsay Lohan than the last one (where she alleges a waitress punched her in the face)! Lindsay was spotted going into Beso & Colony Nightclub last night. She certainly looks upbeat
