Katy Perry Opens Up About Her Religious Upbringing

When ‘I Kissed a Girl’ singer Katy Perry sat down with Rolling Stones, she talked to them about her upbringing, including being raised by her parents, who are ministers, according to OK! magazine.
“I wasn’t ever able to say I was ‘lucky’ because my mother would rather us say that we were blessed, and she also didn’t like that lucky sounded like Lucifer. Deviled eggs were called ‘angelled’ eggs. I wasn’t allowed to eat Lucky Charms, but I think that was the sugar. I think my mom lied to me about that one.”
LOL! Katy said she even has “Jesus” tattoed on her wrist.
“Speaking in tongues is as normal to me as ‘Pass the salt.’ It’s a secret, direct prayer language to God,” she added. “That’s their gift.”
Speaking in tongues is pretty intense. I wonder how Katy reconciles what she does with her conservative upbringing? Maybe I’ll have to leaf through the new issue of Rolling Stone to find out (which Katy covers wearing lingerie

You can’t preach Atheism, It’s the absence of a deity, we’re not stuck up. We like to view knowledge as incomplete, as a void to be filled. You view this strange place of ours as something we have no control over, and a tyrannical god rules over, and already knows. Isn’t it beautiful to know the universe is one big void of knowledge, just waiting to be discovered? Waiting to be figured by intelligent life? There’s 200billion stars and more appearing every second. What makes you think, humans are so special? We’re one of the smallest, galaxies, and possible in the lowest percentile as sizable planets. Don’t be so narcissistic.
