Jessica Simpson Was Shocked By Eric Johnson’s Proposal

Jessica Simpson appeared on ‘The Early Show’ where she revealed that she wasn’t only shocked by boyfriend Eric Johnson’s proposal but that she almost forgot to try on the ring!
“I had to sit on his knee to really get what was happening. I was shocked. “I first said, ‘Yes!’ But I didn’t even try the ring on until 5 minutes in. I just sat there and cried with him.”
And even though there are rumors that Jess isn’t a fan of her ring, she assured the show that she loved her unconventional ring.
“I’ve already done the traditional thing. I wanted to do something that was different.”
I actually really love her ring, and I wonder if now that Kate Middleton got engaged and also has a ring that isn’t traditional if this will start a new trend?

I for one think people place FAR too much emphasis on the look of the ring versus what it stands for. It’s about the meaning behind the ring, not whether or not you have a 3 carat rock on your finger.
oh bitch please let’s not even think of comparing Kate’s engagement ring (which was also Princess Diana’s) to this junky looking thing Jessica picked out (he doesn’t have the money to pay for it)
who cares, a ring is just a ring. Its about the meaning behind the ring. Just because these people are famous, or have money doesn’t mean they all have to have these HUGE ridiculous gaudy looking rocks on their fingers. That’s just stupid in my opinion. So who cares what they look like, it’s the symbolism behind them. It’s already become a trend of people having colored stones on their engagement rings.
who cares of Jessica possibly bought her own engagement ring, or gave him the money for it. If they are in love, then they are in love. Who are you to say it’s junky looking? Who really cares if it’s out of a cracker jack box? I mean honestly, if she’s happy, let it be.
