Rupert Everett Slams Jennifer Aniston

Rupert Everett was giving an interview where he was talking about how homosexual actors are regarded in Hollywood. He said that ultimately the movie industry determines career success or failure, not popularity with the public.

“If you look and analyze the careers of many, many stars, you’ll find that they’re mostly sustained by the business,” he said. “I’m not going to start naming names of people whose films have not succeeded at the box office, but you’ll find there’s lots of women and lots of men in the business that the powers that be decide are right for their business, and they’ll stand with them for quite a long time.”

Then Rupert decided to start naming names.

“OK, something will go wrong, like Jennifer Aniston will have one too many total flops, but she’s still a member of that club, and she will still manage to…like a star forming in the universe, things will swirl around her and it will suddenly solidify into another vital tasteless romcom, you know, a little glitter next to the Crab Nebula.”

Ouch. Was that really necessary?

Although, as I think about it, Jennifer’s recent hit movies (‘Marley & Me‘ and ‘He’s Just Not That Into You‘) were based on bestselling books. ‘The Switch,’ ‘Love Happens,’ and ‘The Bounty Hunter‘ were not and none of them were great box office hits.

  1. those 3 movies may not have come in as #1 or 2 on opening week..but Bounty Hunter made more than 3 times the production cost…Love Happens came in at more than 2 times production cost..and The Switch made 2 1/2 times production cost..not so bad when you consider that AJ and Johnnie Depp movie The Tourist still hasn’t made production cost…Im just saying..Rupert needs to STFU, since hes a hasbeen, and I would be willing to bet that he doesn’t have nearly as much money in the bank as Jennifer…

    • Exactly and even if they want to call them flops, Marley and Me and He’s not that into You were still hits and recent movies of hers. Every celebrity has movie flops, it would be silly to expet Jen Aniston to be immune to them.

  2. Jennifer Aniston was really good in the Indy film “The Good Girl” opposite Jake Gyllenhaal. She played very much against type. Interesting transformation from the characters she usually plays. What’s interesting is that there was this other actress, known primarily for her silly rom-coms in the past and I’m pretty sure she one an Oscar this year. Don’t be too judgey, Rupert. You might get Blind Sided.

  3. What has he done lately? The last movie he was in was “My Best Friend’s Wedding” and that was more than a decade ago! He sounds bitter and angry…jealous much? Maybe he should talk about his tasteless plastic surgery on his face.

  4. it’s true, she is not a good actress, she acts like rachel in every film she’s in. she’s famous for being brad pitt’s ex, and for being a woman scorned.

  5. He hit the nail right on the head!!! Love it!!!! It doesn’t matter whether he has had a hit or not ~ truth is truth. Aniston is TIRESOME and her “starlet” persona is boring. She is NO starlet anymore.

  6. I think Jennifer Aniston is very likeable. Rupert (and I loved him in My Best Friend’s Wedding) sounds bitter.
