David Arquette has checked himself into rehab. The 39-year-old actor – who separated from wife Courteney Cox in October – decided to enter the facility in California after a wild New Year’s Eve. A friend said:

“He was drinking too much. Once he drank too much, he became somebody he didn’t like.”

Wonder if this had anything to do with the separation? Perhaps David lost himself a bit and started to make irrational decisions. David is battling alcoholism and depression.

“He is in there for drinking and depression, not hard drugs. Rehab was inevitable. He is dealing with a broken heart. He can’t handle all the changes in his life. All his inner demons came out.”

‘Cougar Town’ star Courteney gave an official statement to People Magazine about David entering rehab.

“I really admire David and his choice to take charge and better his life. I love and support him.”

I hope David can pull out of this.  It’s a huge step that he acknowledged the problem.
