Reese Witherspoon is starting 2011 off right – she was spotted today in Brentwood getting in a good run. Earlier today she was out and about visiting a friend.

So many outlets are making note of the fact that she doesn’t have her engagement ring on. If I were out and about running like that – I wouldn’t be wearing it either!

I’m sure with awards season coming up along with her ‘Water for Elephants’ press, she’ll be working out HARD.

Get ready for a new hit song from Taylor Swift – she and Jake Gyllenhaal have reportedly ended their relationship. A source tells People:

They’re over. It ended last month.”

Wow, these two only lasted a few weeks! Their “romance” started around the end of October and reportedly came to an end around the first week in December. I guess they realized pretty quickly that things wouldn’t work out?

The list of celebrity engagements just keeps getting longer! ‘The View‘ co-host Sherri Shepherd announced her engagement to TV writer Lamar Sally. Lamar proposed the day after Christmas. Her rep shared:

“Upon arriving back to Lamar’s home in Los Angeles from a trip to San Diego, Sherri was surprised to find their accommodations had been decorated with lights by one of Sal’s best friends, her dog was wearing a Santa beard and hat, and, in the middle of a dish of Sherri’s favorite but forbidden M&M’s (she is diabetic), was a tiny little box, with that, Sal took a knee and, backed up by the King of Pop, popped the question,

Her rep also shared the they plan to marry in Chicago in August.

I can’t ever recall so many engagement announcements in such a short period of time! So far we have Reese Witherspoon, Natalie Portman, Vivica Fox, LeAnn Rimes, Ginnifer Goodwin, Hugh Hefner, and I know I’m missing a few!!!

The cast of ‘Gossip Girl’ is back at work after their holiday break. Chace Crawford and Tika Sumpter (One Life to Live) were spotted filming scenes on the set in NYC.

The show is in the midst of it’s fourth season – are you still watching? I’ve wanted to, but haven’t had a chance to catch up with the past seasons.

Matt LeBlanc played the character of Joey on ‘Friends’ so well that some people now just assume that he’s as flighty and dumb in real life.

“Being known as Joey always gives me an advantage going into any situation because their guard is down. They think I’m stupid. They speak nice and slow to me. “

He doesn’t mind it at all:

“I never look at is as a bad thing. If someone believes your performance you’ve done and really thinks you’re that person, that’s kind of a compliment.”

Joey says that despite fan interest, he just can’t imagine doing a ‘Friends‘ movie because they’ve explored every possible storyline on the television show:

“What would the story be? We all get together and what? Have coffee? It would be almost sad. It’s better to just imagine what those characters are doing now.”

I’m on the fence with that one. I was nervous about ‘Sex and the City‘ being resurrected, but it turned out to be a good thing. What do you think about a ‘Friends‘ movie?

‘Black Swan‘ actress Natalie Portman shares that her parents are supportive of her acting, but are hoping she’ll go to grad school.

“My parents are the opposite of stage parents in that they’re still not so sure about the whole Hollywood thing. I got a degree in psychology at Harvard and my dad is still saying, ‘This being an actress thing is cute, but don’t you think it’s time to go to grad school?’ They are amazing parents who listen to me and respect what I say, and the reason I’m not totally crazy is I know they’re at home, happy, loving me and proud of me no matter how badly I fail. If you have that in your life, you feel free to do anything.”

The newly engaged star also shared that she has another fella in her life that loves her unconditionally (and it’s not fiance Benjamin Millepied:

“I have an amazing dog called Whiz, a black and brown Yorkie – lots of shades going on in that coat. He turned four last Halloween. He has this amazing intuition of knowing how people feel and when he’s in a room full of people he’ll sit next to the one person who’s thinking, ‘I don’t really like dogs,’ then he’ll roll over and show them his belly. He’s like a little moving teddy bear. He’s the sweetest thing.”

I’m sure her parents are excited about becoming grandparents! And if it weren’t for that “Hollywood thing” Natalie is doing – she never would’ve met their future son-in-law!
