While many celebrities hit twitter to share their fears and condolences for everyone struck by the earthquake in Japan, Jimmy Kimmel is experiencing it in a much more personal way: he is vacationing on a French Polynesian in the Pacific Ocean (which is being rocked by a tsunami caused by the earthquake).

The ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ shows airing right now? Reruns. He really IS in the Pacific. When asked if he was scared, he tweeted:

a good solid 7. on a small island, with no high ground.

we are evacuating the island. dogspeed.

Hopefully he (and everyone else) makes it out okay! The tsunami is expected to hit California as well. Everybody, stay safe!
