It was a magical weekend at multiplexes with as the latest and final installment of the Harry Potter franchise finally hit theaters. Not only did the much-anticipated sequel earn praise from fans and critics alike, but it worked its magic over audiences everywhere at it raked in over $168 million dollars over the weekend.

Shattering previous box office records, held by 2008′s The Dark Knight, Deathly Hallows Part 2 managed to not only trump Part 1 , but another franchise entirely. Although the series may have come to its end, the celebrations have only just begun.
