Buzz About Christina Aguilera’s Weight Continues

Posted on October 13, 2011 at 11:00 AM

Have you been following the buzz all over the internet about Christina Aguilera’s appearance at the Michael Jackson Tribute Concert? No one is complaining about ‘The Voice’ coach’s singing, but people are talking about her appearance.

Specifically, people are talking about her perceived weight gain. Joan Rivers even called Christina “a pig.” OUCH.

Here are some of the pictures. True, she does look like she’s put on a few pounds. But fat? A pig? Seriously? To me Christina looks like someone of average weight compared to celebrities who tend to be underweight (although I admit that outfit does her NO favors). What do you think?

  1. I don’t think she’s “overweight” per say (she’s definitely gained some weight) she’s just wearing very unflattering clothes that make her look much larger than she is.

  2. K, Joan Rivers is disgusting, like she should be talking… Gross. Christina looks good. Yes, she’s gained weight but who cares lol.

    • I agree on the Joan Rivers statement, and if Christina gained weight, so what…she is not complaining. Maybe she likes herself that way. It is what you feel about yourself is the bottom line whether you’re fat or not.

  3. I agree with Kodie- the weight gain is neither here nor there, although she does look at the slightly too heavy end of the spectrum for her height and build, its that she isnt dressing her new body well. she keeps wearing either very little or very tight or both. dresses are cut wrong for her new shape, or theyre made of unflattering material like satin(which is unforgiving to a single bump or ounce)and lycra and often at least a size too small. Its such a common mistake with heavier people-think that because something does up means it fits. something thats too small is going to make you look bigger than you are. nobody but you would know the size of your jeans so might as well buy the right size, the ones that actually ‘fit’ and youll look slimmer. she needs to adjust how she dresses to her new weight. I dont care how much she weighs, its her body but I find her outfits awful.I found them awful when they fit, but gotta pick your battles

  4. And I do think she’s overweight, for a celebrity or not. I think her BMI is likely in the low overweight range. Not fat or obese, but for her size, she’s packing on too many pounds.

But I suppose binge-drinking will do that to you…

  5. Well, people’s weight, shape and figures change throughout life. I think the mistake here is not accomodating the changes with appropriate attire. She doesn’t look fat to me. She looks poorly dressed for her figure. Time to rethink the wardrobe, Christina.

  6. She has definitely put on some weight… No question there, obviously… But she is a pretty small woman, so even just gaining 5 lbs. is very obvious on her frame, then say, someone who is 5’9”.

  7. I can’t vote in your poll because I think both answers are equally true. I don’t think she’s any different from the rest of the average American population, but that’s overweight for a celebrity.

Personally, I think that, if she’s fine with herself, then everyone else should just shut up about it (why is anyone listening to Joan “plastic face” Rivers, anyway?). Too bad that isn’t the way the world works. I don’t envy any celebrity with more than two extra pounds. It seems if you aren’t one more purge away from needing emergency care, you’re fat in Hollywood.

  8. She is not fat – it is just a very unflattering outfit. She is just over confident and she couldn’t pull it off. Althought it is noticable that she’s gained some weight.
