Marrying Ryan Reynolds Was The ‘Best Thing’ Scarlett Johansson Ever Did

Posted on December 06, 2011 at 9:29 AM

I’ve got to admit, though I always thought Scarlett Johansson and Ryan Reynolds were a random pair, I was seriously sad when they split last year. And though both ScarJo and Ryan moved on, the former “Mrs. Reynolds” admits that marrying the Green Lanter star was the “best thing” she ever did.

Opening up in the January issue of Cosmopolitan, Scarlett dished that getting married felt “right” to her.

“It was the best thing I ever did. I’m a big believer that when something feels right, you should do it,” said Scarlett. “Getting married was the right thing to do because it was natural. It grew out of romance and love and a desire to have a future with somebody, and I was very fortunate to that I married somebody who turned out to be the person I thought he would be.”

Although she and Ryan were only man and wife for a short time, their “extremely busy” careers took a bit of a toll on their romance.

“We spent so much time apart,” said Scarlett. “It’s very difficult.”

Reflecting on her relationship, Scarlett admits that she “wasn’t fully aware of the peaks and valleys” of marriage.

“Relationships are complicated,” said Scarlett. “Being married is a living, breathing process. I think I wasn’t fully aware of the peaks and valleys. I wasn’t prepared to hunker down and do the work.”

Though Scarlett may not be sporting any arm-candy at the moment, the Avengers star dished that she’s attracted to “adventurous” and “a bit mysterious” types. Bad boys, feel free to apply! ;)
