Katy Perry Wanted Russell Brand To File For Divorce

At first there was some speculation that Russell Brand had blindsided Katy Perrywith his divorce filing, but now sources are telling TMZ that Katy wanted Russell to file to avoid upsetting her evangelical Christian parents.
Apparently Russell and Katy felt their relationship was over a few months ago but wanted to make an effort to work things out. However, both felt “it just wasn’t there” and decided to divorce.

Neither wanted to be in LA when the papers were filed, which is why Russell went to London while Katy went to Hawaii. It’s too bad, but sometimes things just don’t work out.
