Looks like Joaquin Phoenix has come out of retirement from acting! Here he is with Marion Cotillard. They’re shooting a scene for an untitled James Gray movie. This is a synopsis:

An innocent immigrant woman is tricked into a life of burlesque and vaudeville until a dazzling magician tries to save her and reunite her with her sister who is being held in the confines of Ellis Island.

Could be interesting. Joaquin and Marion are both fantastic actors, so that’s a plus! I’m keeping an eye out for a trailer.

Kim and Kourtney Kardashian were spotted leaving a friend’s house yesterday. I’m guessing that friend wasn’t Kathie Lee Gifford .

Neither one looks like they were thrilled to be photographed: Kim just kept her head down while Kourtney looks like she was hiding any hint of a baby bump with her bag. I wonder if they miss Khloe, who’s in Dallas with Lamar?

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi look like they had a low-key Friday afternoon. The couple was spotted going into a store called Wanna Buy a Watch? and then they left for lunch.

I’m kind of surprised there’s a store devoted to selling watches: who wears them anymore? Practically everyone I see just checks their cell for the time! Yet antique and high-end watches can be lovely.

You have to admit, Kat Von D has not had the easiest time of it, between the cancellation of her show ‘L.A. Ink’ and her break-up (twice!) with Jesse James. Yet she seems to be coping well.

Here she is doing some shopping at Unica Melrose in West Hollywood. Kat should treat herself: she’s been through enough in the last year or so. If her Facebook posts are any indication, this girl seems pretty grounded. I think she’ll bounce back.
