UPDATED: Whitney Houston Dead At 48

Grammy-winning singer and talented actress Whitney Houston has died (at the much too young) age of 48.
Whitney passed away today at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. Her rep confirmed the shocking news. No cause of death is being released right now, but TMZ says the Beverly Hills PD is launching a full investigation.
Whitney leaves behind one child, her daughter Bobbi Kristina, 18.
Our thoughts are with her family.

Beverly Hills Police Lieutenant Mark Rosen tells People:
“I can confirm that Whitney Houston was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. We received a call at 3:43 p.m. from hotel security and Beverly Hills fire and police responded minutes later. Someone in her entourage found her unresponsive in her room … It’s unclear who notified hotel staff because she has quite an entourage here at the hotel. We attempted to resuscitate her, to no avail.”
“At this time, there’s no obvious evidence of foul play or cause of death.”

I hope her daughter has some good people surrounding her to help her through.

Tragic. I saw Twitter blow up and came to see. I’m sure the rumors are flying already, but I hate to admit that I wont’ be surprised if it was due to drugs or alcohol. Addiction sucks.
