Machine Gun Preacher star Gerard Butler was recently admitted to the Betty Ford Center to treat his substance abuse issues. Though the screen stud entered the clinic three weeks ago, TMZ reports that Gerard’s dependancy on prescription drugs was the cause.
Though it’s no secret that Gerardloves the night life, it seems that the actor’s troubles started back in 2006 during the filming of 300. According to reports, the action star started taking painkillers to help deal with the injuries he sustained, but the problem got worse after a surfing stunt got wrong in December.
While Gerard is set to be released from Betty Ford later today, we wish him nothing but a healthy and sober recovery.
