Olivier Martinez pulled out all the stops when he was having Halle Berry’s engagement ring designed! He worked with Robert Mazlo in Paris, who is descended from a line of jewelers that have been designing jewelry for royal familes for “centuries.” A friend of Olivier’s said the actor:

“wanted to produce the most beautiful ring ever made – money was no object and he only wanted the finest materials involved.”

So the jeweler requested that Olivier take an “alchemy test” that consisted of seven questions about Halle. The jeweler then used the answers to help design a ring for the actress.

“Olivier was absolutely delighted with the result,” the source says of the “stunning” ring, worth “well into the five figures.”

I’m sure Halle appreciates all that Olivier went through to design her ring: isn’t it gorgeous?
