Well that could have been extremely awkward! Though Katy Perry’s been loving her stay in London, her trip overseas could’ve taken a potential turn for the worst over the weekend.

After enjoying a night out at the Mayfair’s hot hangout, Mahiki, Katy made a quick exit once she got word that ex-hubby Russell Brand was on his way there.

“Katy was having a great night but bolted out of the door when one of her sidekicks stunned her by telling her Russ was about to turn up,” a source told the Metro newspaper. “Rather than risk an awkward run-in, Katy didn’t take any chances and ordered everyone to move on to a club in Chelsea instead.”

Although Katy successfully dodged a possible encounter, the truth is, she didn’t have to! In fact, Russell is actually stateside shooting a movie and now dealing with a few legal issues of his own.
