There’s probably no way you can buy Buckingham Palace, no matter how much money you have. But for $28 million, you can buy another well-known British mansion: Beckingham Palace, the London homebase for David and Victoria Beckham.
It looks like the Beckhams truly are making LA their home: they are putting their British mansion up for sale. A source said:
“David and Victoria have been wanting to sell up for a couple of years now but the timing was never right. They didn’t want to lose money, putting their homes up for sale during a slump in the property market. So, after getting it valued two years ago, decided to hold off until now.
“Unfortunately, they have still lost quite a lot of money on their UK home due to all the renovations they carried out. They don’t need the money, as such, but no longer use either place and realise in this current climate it’s crazy to effectively throw cash away. The Beckhams have made LA their home, and the kids are settled there.”
David and Victoria reportedly bought the mansion for $4 million in 1999 but then spent millions of dollars in renovations, including a 52-ft. garden pavilion with a marble floor, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, recording studio and gym. It’s on 24-acres. Goodness!
They’re also expected to sell their mansion in the south of France. Victoria, however, is said to be looking for a smaller place for them to have in London. Maintaining all those properties must get expensive! Take a look at Beckingham Palace below.
