Remember when Alicia Silverstone posted that home video of her feeding her baby boy, Bear Blu, mouth-to-mouth (she chewed up the food in her mouth and then passed it directly to his mouth from her mouth)? A lot of people thought it was, well, disgusting. Now Alicia’s responding to her critics.

“People have been feeding their kids that way for thousands of years. It’s a weaning process. It’s just a thing that has been going on for thousands of years and I didn’t think I was inventing anything.

“I wasn’t saying this was anything somebody should do. I wasn’t trying to be independent or cause such a ruckus. I’m very glad that I did it.”

I haven’t heard of many mothers doing this, but hey, as long as it isn’t unsafe or dangerous, then it’s Alicia’s call, right?
