Reporters Asked Not To Mention “The Vampires & Bats” To Robert Pattinson

Robert Pattinson is at Cannes Film Festival for two reasons: to support girlfriendKristen Stewart as her film, ‘On The Road,’ debuted there, and to promote his own film, ‘Cosmopolis,’ which is also showing at Cannes. ‘Cosmopolis’ director David Cronenberg made it clear to reporters: this is NOT about ‘Twilight.’
”You must ignore the baggage. You know it exists. But we’re doing a new thing. And you have to forget all that other stuff.”
And that’s why reporters were asked not to talk about “the vampires and bats” to the star of ‘Cosmopolis,’ Robert Pattinson. It makes sense: if Robert wants to have career longevity, then he has to move beyond ‘Twilight,’ but David’s statements seem a little, um, disrespectful. I mean, let’s be honest, would Robert be the star of ‘Cosmopolis’ without ‘Twilight’? But the request about vampires and bats is also funny, you have to admit- LOL.
